I could see that. Either way I'm glad we didn't throw top 10 WR money at Garcon, that just seems like desperation. I honestly can't think of a FA signing really working out for a team besides Welker to the Pats and Brees to the Saints. Both or those are exceptions though, not the rule.BR1986FB;1121075 wrote:I'm getting the impression that they HAD planned on being fairly active (early) in FA, especially at the WR position. When teams like Washington started throwing ridiculous money at guys like Garcon, they were shellshocked and just backed off. From what I've heard, the money that was thrown at some of these guys is unprecedented.

Steinbach, for the most part, has done well for us. Hasn't helped bring a championship but was more than solid.Commander of Awesome;1121077 wrote:I could see that. IDK...Fins GM Jeff Ireland is a dick and supposedly not well liked in league circles. Could have something to do with asking Dez Bryant if his mom was a prostitute in his rookie interview. Right city (Miami) wrong athlete (LeQuitter) to ask that question.Commander of Awesome;1121070 wrote:Eh I don't buy into that, money talks, and if you're in the playoffs the season before also helps. Phins play in a tough division and don't have a QB. Thus FAs don't want to go there.

Anyone else heard any more about the rumor that Blackmon has no interest in playing here?

No, but it's hilarious when players say shit like that, then when they are actually in Cleveland they love the place. You are not going to get the type of love from fans in any other city.BR1986FB;1121110 wrote:Anyone else heard any more about the rumor that Blackmon has no interest in playing here?

Blackmon would strike me as the type of guy who would say such a thing. One more reason why I would rather have Claibourn.

Also with our outstanding FA... What positions do we have to draft starters at?

They need a QB (probably won't get this year), at least one WR, RB, RT, possibly a RG, OLB and a DB.OneBuckeye;1121124 wrote:Also with our outstanding FA... What positions do we have to draft starters at?

Screw Blackmon! Take Richardson and then take another WR later. The last thing we need is to draft a guy at #4 and have him hold out.

He'll play. Probably just doesn't understand that most athletes rather enjoy playing in cleveland. Thinks it's some shithole w/ a shitty football team. He'll be alright, draft him because he's a playmaker and we need a playmaker.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1121143 wrote:Screw Blackmon! Take Richardson and then take another WR later. Also, GTFOOFHWT Richardson talk. If they draft him at 4, I will flip out.

This is why we need to trade with St. Louis. There is no other way we can draft even 5 starters IMO other than trading down. My best case scenario The combinations are many (except OT) Adams and Zerbie Sanders are the only 2nd round OTs IMO... so it's either draft early or wait.BR1986FB;1121138 wrote:They need a QB (probably won't get this year), at least one WR, RB, RT, possibly a RG, OLB and a DB.
6. Richardson/Claibourn
22. Hill/Wright
33.Mike Adams
37.If RB was taken first Alfonzo Dennard/Hosley if CB was taken in the first I would wait and draft a RB in the 3rd or 4th and pick BPA here.
39. Zach Brown

Mike Adams can GTFO. Inconsistent lazy POS. Also 19 reps on the bench? LMAO, thats pathetic for a guy that big, athletically gifted and in OSU training program from 4 yrs.

Lloyd really wanted to play for the Pats, and was vocal about it.

Some kids need micro managed and he was one of them. Unfortunately for him the OSU staff (Tressel) and Strength program was not one to do that. If he was under Meyer for 4 years I would expect more out of him.Commander of Awesome;1121153 wrote:Mike Adams can GTFO. Inconsistent lazy POS. Also 19 reps on the bench? Panthers lasso RB Tolbert with four-year deal

Panthers signed RB Mike Tolbert to a four-year contract.
Let the Jonathan Stewart trade speculation begin. Tolbert is an adept short-yardage runner and big contributor in the passing game, but his signing is curious for a team that already has Stewart, DeAngelo Williams and Mike Goodson under contract. Regardless of whether or not Stewart is retained, Tolbert should be in for far fewer snaps than he played in San Diego, and may not even be a consistent goal-line option with QB Cam Newton thriving in the role last year. A fringe fantasy option outside of PPR leagues last season, Tolbert could have a hard time finding value in 2012.

Plus Pats > Browns and Brady >>>>>> Cleveland QB. Like you've been saying if you win players are going to want to go there and you won't have to pay them ridiculous amounts of money.Commander of Awesome;1121155 wrote:Lloyd really wanted to play for the Pats, and was vocal about it.

Also, Peyton likely to sign with the Broncos... so much for Hasselbeck.
But let's start going for Stewart!
