I'm laughing my ass off because apparently the league has been warning them about this practice for awhile (per Schefter).Dr. KnOiTaLL;1113793 wrote:Ouch, this could have tremendous implications in free agency as both teams were lined up to be major players in FA acquisitions.
BTW..this increases the Browns cap number to $19 million because each team except for the Saints & Raiders gets $1.6 million each if I'm reading this correct.

1) Why is this against the rules?BR1986FB;1113789 wrote:OMG, OMG....It sounds like the HAMMER just got dropped by Goodell. If I'm reading this right, the Cowboys and Redskins just got punished for cash dumping? Cowboys lose $10 million in cap space while the Skins lose $36 million over the next two years per Schefter? Skins are FUCKED.
2) Mike Brown wants to know how to sign up.

Maybe the Browns could use some of that cap space to improve our O-Line by grabbing one of the established older players who could give way to a future pick in the next few years.BR1986FB;1113795 wrote:I'm laughing my ass off because apparently the league has been warning them about this practice for awhile (per Schefter).

While Flynn and McCoy are very similar as far as skill and arm strength, I believe Flynn's awareness and decision making would make him a slight upgrade. The biggest question now is whether or not he would be willing to come to Cleveland.BR1986FB;1113804 wrote:Our boy is back...

I think they will get outbid. I think the Browns will have a certain "threshold" of what they are willing to spend plus Flynn has ties to Miami & Seattle who would both be the frontrunners, I'd think.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1113810 wrote:While Flynn and McCoy are very similar as far as skill and arm strength, I believe Flynn's awareness and decision making would make him a slight upgrade. I agree which is why I previously stated that I think McCoy will be behind center this season (even though I wouldn't be disappointed with an upgrade). I this if this is the case, the best scenario we can have is to take Richardson at 4 (being called the best RB in the draft since Adrian Peterson) and then take Stephan Hill or Kendall Wright if they are available at 22. Assuming we still struggle, we should be in a reasonable position to draft a quarterback next season and will already have several weapons in place.BR1986FB;1113816 wrote:I think they will get outbid. Also, is that skin/rams deal finalized. It would be funny to see the Skins back out of the deal now. I would love to see the Rams QQ. I hope that happens and the Browns can tell them to go fuck themselves.

Browns released Tony Pashos. Cap number should now be a bit more than $22 miilion.

There was no salary cap, so what rule did they break?

Seriously? Think the Skins had a crystal ball that they were going to lose all of that cap money? To answer your question, yes. And that "RG3 will have to equal Tom Brady to justify the trade" thing is a bunch of bullshit. If he's an elite QB in 3 years consistently leading the Skins to the playoffs I highly doubt they'll give a shit about those picks. I hear Giants fans "QQing", as you like to say, daily about that scrub Eli Manning and what they gave up for him. :rolleyes:like_that;1113907 wrote:

And if the Skins DID know about this the trade makes total sense knowing that they wouldn't have the cap money to sign a FA.

How does it make total sense to make the trade though if they knew they were going to be punished by Goodell. If you can't sign FA's you are going to need to build through the draft. Otherwise you are fucked. See the Raiders.

If their top FA targets are Peyton Manning & Flynn and they don't have the cap money to afford them, they secure their QB via trade if they aren't enamored with Tannehill or Weeden. It actually makes sense if they feel he's a once in a lifetime talent (in their eyes). Don't ask me. I'm nuts but I'm not Daniel Fucking Snyder "nuts."like_that;1113931 wrote: How does it make total sense to make the trade though if they knew they were going to be punished by Goodell. I feel for Pashos, but fuck man, youre made of glass. Never fucking healthy. If you didn't play you were gone anyways. Thanks for toughing it out, but you sucked on the field.
