High priced FA almost never work out. Remember when Redskins got Haynesworth? How'd that work out?

I was using those as examples of players they could target hence the "etc, etc." Might not be thos exact players but I could see them grabbing a couple of WR's, OL and a RB to surround him with. $40 Million will go a LONG way.

You obviously didn't watch him last year. He was exceptional his rookie year and took a step back in 2011. If he wasn't getting beaten he was getting nailed with a pass interference penalty.

Eric Steinbach, prior to his injury, disagrees.

Haden gave up a few big plays, I still think he never fully recovered from his knee injury in week 7.

I really hope RG3 is a bust, because I will be sure to remind all of you about how badly you wanted to throw away 4 picks for him. Impatience isn't going to get this team anywhere. The more short cuts they try to take, the more likely they will dig themselves in a deeper hole. You guys just need to have sucked ass this past decade. Start living in tget over the fact that the Browns he now, and quit letting the piss poor management of the past cloud your judgement.
Good point but much easier said than done. I think thats why most fans feel the way that they do about the organization

It's disappointing to not be able to finally get that franchise quarterback, but that price was ridiculously steep for the Browns. Washington can afford to give away all of those draft picks because they're a team that overpays in free agency and can acquire players that way. The Browns place more value on the draft. I just hope they shove it up St. Louis' ass and take Blackmon at 4

And I'm pretty sure that the Saints team that won the Super Bowl was mostly comprised of free agents.

Bentley & Baxter were unfortunate injuries, otherwise they are fine. I wouldn't call "on their last legs/riding off into the sunset" McGinest/Washington/Andruzzi "key free agent signings." Those were the Romeo Crennel "good old boy network" just like Mangini brought in a bunch of washed up Jets.

Though it was before The Move (BR & COA will remember this) lest we forget Andre "Bad Moon" Rison

That was just stupid on Modell's part. Believe he had to take out a personal loan to pay his salary.

Well...now I'm pretty much sold on a trade down to #7 (Jacksonville-takes Blackmon) or #14 (Dallas-takes Claiborne) to solidify the defense. Get your RDE, maybe a linebacker and a DB. Trading with the Cowboys should yield no less than another 2nd/3rd and probably another pick this year.

Ugh...no more trading down. You can't get elite players if you keep being terrible and not taking top 10 talent. Take Claiborne, take the best player available at #22, continue with the draft.

Nah, I'm loading up on picks now, if I can. Drafting defense early, O-Line with one of the 2nd's & 3rd's.

I don't disagree with taking Claiborne, but I would love to grab Stephen Hill at 22 if he's available. Kid has freakish size, great speed, good hands. Even if we can't upgrade at QB this year, if we give Colt a legitimate downfield threat, then there is no longer any excuse for him not to perform, but I think they at least have to give him a shot when he has some weapons first. (And NO, MoMass is not a weapon)

According to that draft trade chart, Washington overpaid by the equivalent of a first round pick for RG3. Time will tell if Dan Snyder fucked his organization again.

also, I agree with whoever said that trades like this completely fucked things up for trades in the future.

I really don't get why people say this. I can only recall the Browns trading down twice since they came back in 99'. It's not like they do it every single year. If they trade down to the 10th spot, then its a great move.

I think they say it because they traded down like 42 times to get Alex Mack a few years back...lol

lol, I knew this thread would turn into a QQ fest as soon as I heard about the Skins finalizing a deal.
When did the Browns make it to the Super Bowl and then start a slide down hill?
