Obviously if it's a choice between taking Coples/Ingram at 4 or trading down to #10 and taking Coples/Ingram + draft picks we're going to take the trade LOL
BR, what I'm saying is, if you can't find a trade partner, then it's not anywhere close to as big of a burden as it used to be to take a player outside of their "value". I have no problem taking a DE at 4 if we can't trade.

Coples is WAY outside their value. WAY outside...guy wreaks of bust. Has motivation issues and isn't "comfortable" playing on the side (right) they'd put him.

Do you not get my point? It doesn't matter if it's Blackmon, Ingram, or whoever. Just draft for need not for "pick value"BR1986FB;1107210 wrote:Coples is WAY outside their value. You still have to factor value. I.E. Trent Richardson. Why spend your #4 pick on him, when he could possibly fall down to the mid to late first round, and also he isn't that much better than the other RBs that will be on the board.lhslep134;1107215 wrote:Do you not get my point? Disagree completely. When you have a top 5 pick, you take best player IMO. I dont want to reach for 20th talent overall just because we have a need. You win with talent in this league and if you have the opportunity to draft a top talent you do it.lhslep134;1107215 wrote:Just draft for need not for "pick value"
Exceptions IMO are kickers, punters, RBs. I still wouldn't take AP in the top 15, just not worth it IMO. RBs are a dime a dozen and I wouldn't ever draft one earlier than the second round unless it was Jim Fucking Brown.

I think Ingram and Blackmon are both top 10 talents. I don't think either would be a problem at 4 IF we can't trade down.

Don't know much about Ingram, but I'd take Blackmon at 4.lhslep134;1107228 wrote:I think Ingram and Blackmon are both top 10 talents. I don't think either would be a problem at 4 IF we can't trade down.

Agree. I think if they are stuck at four without a trade offer to move back and RG3 is gone, Blackmon then Claiborne are the best options. You would think someone would want Kahlil and trade up to get him.like_that;1107237 wrote:Don't know much about Ingram, but I'd take Blackmon at 4.

I think T-Rich is an exception because he's a RB and I think we all (or at least 99% of us) agree that RBs taken in the top 5 are worthless picks.like_that;1107218 wrote:You still have to factor value. The point is if we can't find a trade partner to trade down and get more picks then I would be okay with taking Coples or Ingram at 4, even though they may be there at 10. I'm not saying it's my first choice, but I'm not going to bash the FO if they want to reach to fill a need if their first and second options (RG3, Blackmon) are not there.

I think Kalil goes #3 to the Vikings. Doubt he's there for the Browns at #4

Just had chat with Rams GM Les Snead. Sure sounded like he wants 3
first-rounders for #2 pick. Podcast will post later iTunes/NFL.com
Good luck with that...

If that is their expectation they likely will be making that second pick themselves.BR1986FB;1107431 wrote:Rich Eisen ‏ @

Agreed. Browns, Patriots & Bengals are the only ones who could legitimately make that deal. I don't even see nutbag Daniel Snyder giving up 2012, 2013 and 2014 first rounders.IggyPride00;1107466 wrote:If that is their expectation they likely will be making that second pick themselves.

Rams are morons, but of course they're going to say that now. It's not like they're gonna come out and be like "shouldn't be that much..Browns, how bout that #22 pick and we'll call it a day"

Just like the Browns aren't going to say "we'll give you the 22 pick with #4." Then the Rams say "well while you're at it, how bout #37 too?" Hold off...the price can only go down....SportsAndLady;1107476 wrote:Rams are morons, but of course they're going to say that now. I think the Rams are a little desperate to get a great deal. They wanted to make the trade way before the draft time, because they fear how the dominoes will fall regarding Flynn and Manning. I hope their idiotic demands fall flat, and they have to QQ while "settling" for the 2nd pick.BR1986FB;1107479 wrote:Just like the Browns aren't going to say "we'll give you the 22 pick with #4." This is very likely what happens. Someone will likely have to pay but I doubt it's a premium. Their GM is smoking some good stuff if he thinks they are going to get three 1st's.like_that;1107484 wrote:I think the Rams are a little desperate to get a great deal. My only problem is that if all this plays out, it would be Cleveland's luck for Minnesota to say "screw it" and take Griffin at 3. I sure as Hell wouldn't be sold on Ponder.
