If (And big if) Sully can get healthy, the 1-2-3 punch of Sully-WillB-Thomas is almost unfair. Nobody in the big 10 will be able to defend that
The only question is if Thomas can produce at the level he is now with Sully on the floor, he has been lights out and looking to get assists at a really good clip. His game has improved so much from last year.

I think the biggest difference is his efficiency. If you told me last year he could score 30 on about 15 shots, I would tell you to GTFO.

Can't argue, he seems to not be pressuring as much trying to earn playing time by chucking it up from all corners of the arena. Still, when he catches the hot hand he's a bitch.

He was able to do it against Duke, should be even easier with Sully. Thomas at high post with Sully down low should be a deadly combo.

Despite what Sullinger and Matta are saying, I'm going to guess it will be Northwestern before we see Sullinger again...and maybe then for just part of the game. They'll need him healthy when they go to IU.

I disagree. If he can go, and there is no risk to the foot, he will be back vs Miami. He needs to be in game shape come NW/IU. IMO, he isn't a guy who can sit out as long as he has, and just be able to step in and not miss a beat. If it was just a contusion, as reported, that really is not a big deal.

Didn't get a good review of Buckeye recruit T. Parker this weekend. Did he get over matched or was it just one bad game? Thoughts from anyone following him?

Huh?

He had 29/10 in the game.

Matta expecting Sullinger to play vs Lamar. Of course, he said he was doubtful against UpStateSC last week too. So who knows. But sounds that he would definately be ready for Miami Thursday.

On Matta's call in radio show this evening.

Matta said when Sully asked to come out of the game he asked him what's the matter? Sully said, "Someone stepped on my foot." Matta said he thought to himself something like, "What? You gotta be kidding."

He was asked how close to 100% is Sullinger? He said, "Talking in terms of percentages is difficult." He went on to say, "In my four years of playing college basketball, I never felt at 100% for any game.

I wouldn't mind Sully sitting this game. IMO, playing without Sully can only help this team as they go forward.

Disagree. I see what your saying though. But I firmly believe in having ur team healthy so they can continue to develop a chemistry. Having a guy in and out, doesn't do that. On top of that, one area this team had some difficulty in, was getting the ball into the post. Last year, OSU was VERY good at that, especially Diebler. For this team to develop, get better, they need to be healthy.

Unfortunately injuries happen though, and if Sully ever has to be out for a 2-3 week stretch, I will feel much better knowing that they had an opportunity to see what it was like and what they need to do without Sully. We already know they're damn good w/ Sully.

Well, we saw what can happen without Sully vs Kansas. And it wasn't good. Not that Kansas is that great, they aren't. But they are much better than SC. I was very worried at half vs SC. But OSU came together in second half so I do feel better. But bottom line, without Sully OSU is not a top 10 team let alone a title contender. OSU needs him, period! The one good thing thus far without him, Thomas is coming into his own. The past few games, he looks so much more confortable on the court, and his confidence is at an all time high. Although he has been playing well all season, he has really stepped up lately.
I realize injuries are part of things. But not so much in bball as football. Especially when its ur franchise player!!! Can you imagine if OSU football lost Miller this past season and had to go with Bauserman? Ouch!

You make it sound like I want Sully to be out for a long time?!? I want him to be healthy when he returns, and I think it benefits the team to play some of these easier games without him if he's not completely healthy. It serves 2 purposes, get Sully healthy, and teach this team how to play without him if they have to go a long stretch of a game or entire games without him. If he's 100% right now, you absolutely play him, obviously.

Sully is healthy. That was evident tonite. It was also evident tonite he is not near big time game shape. And the team needs him in there to get back to where they were prior to him getting hurt. They struggled offensively tonite. Just not hitting on all cylinders. Matta said as much after the game that they need to get everyone practicing and playing together and getting better.

He also said Sully was at @ 70%, which I dunno, he seemed fine to me but fwiw.

Well, I guess I meant healthy enough to play. Its obvious he is not near in the game shape he needs to be. And that was Matta point as far as wanting him out there, getting in game shape, and playing with the team to continue to develop a chemistry as they get ready for the big ten. Big Ten starts next week with NW coming in, then a TOUGH trip to Bloomington on New Years Eve. If OSU plays as they did offensively last nite against IU, it could easily be an "L".
