CBS has to be pissed right now, they put that freakshow EliteXC on, now they get Strikeforce have 3 title fights and it ends in an all out brawl between Mayhem and Shields camp, LOL!

I know! I loved the bit before they went to commercial where the one dude said, "Gentlemen, we are on national television. We're going to cut away to a break."

I'm guessing that Shields was specifically ordered to apologize for pushing back during that break.

He'll be laughing even more when he signs Shields. With the way Shields dominated Henderson after the first round, you have to think Dana will do ANYTHING he has to do to get him to go against Silva. For the dual reason that (a) he might be good enough to beat Anderson AND (b) he definitely is good enough for Anderson to take seriously and not showboat against.

Shields showed me nothing from a stand-up standpoint to be worth getting into UFC. Takedowns, Yes. Ability to maintain top position, Yes. But, lack of boxing skills and an inability to land much from top or to attain a submission with nearly 20 minutes on top leaves alot to be desired for me.

I saw nothing more than an unimpressive win over a washed up has-been.

If Shields was going against someone younger or with better conditioning that could last more than one round, he'd be toast.

I think "washed up has-been" is kind of harsh to describe Henderson. In his last UFC fight, he did destroy Bisping. While I feel that Bisping has been overrated HUGELY solely because of his role in making UFC big in England, he has been a quality fighter who's solidly in the second tier of guys in his weight class (ie: a winner who'd be out of his element against the elites...like Demian Maia, for example).

Beating him convincingly (even if the match wasn't stopped) is more than enough to make Shields in the UFC an appealing thing.

What happened at the end with Mayhem looked like something Vince McMahon would stage, and its not good for MMA in terms of it continuing to gain traction with the casual observer as a serious, legitimate sport.

Wow Aoki looked like shit lol. What exactly was Mousasi thinking? He gave the impression that he either didn't care to be there or he thought it was an endless fight lol.

My first impression of the whole Mayhem Miller thing at the end...staged, so I'm going to stick with that theory. Something maybe drummed up to get some more attention, you know it'll be on Yahoo's homepage here shortly. Watching the dancing ring girls, the smoke and pyro going off during entrances...seems plausible to me.

Just thought I'd check twitter to see if anyone had anything interesting to say about the fight tonight and found Dana's from about an hour ago....

I can see that. Before the final fight, they did show a highlight package of Miller's fight. Before the commercials leading into it, they highlighted his "straight out of pro wrestling" entrance that made me wonder if the WWE was planning to have "Spirit Squad V.2" as part of their summer/fall roster.

Staged or not, that brawl is NOT good for MMA.

Oh yeah, and the Diaz brothers looked like the douchebags they are in that brawl.

I'm not a big Mayhem fan, and what he did by coming into the stage and stealing the microphone was probably disrespectful but at the sime time the response was 10x worse than what Mayhem did.

I think Shield's camp are the ones to blame. Mayhem just asked for a rematch and Shields gave him a slight push but before there was any other reaction from Mayhem or Shields, Gilbert Melendez and the Diaz Brothers took action and all hell broke lose. Nick and Nate Diaz are thugs plain and simple and I am not surprised one bit they were involved so heavily!!
