I'm really hoping someone on here believes in hell but not heaven though.
Interesting, I'm actually VERY logic driven and that is part of WHY I do believe in heaven and hell.

Unless you're cremated. Then you eventually get smoked by your friends when they run out of herb.

Where do "out of body" experiences fall into this conversation? I broke my neck 12 years ago....and had one of these experiences. Very weird...yet peaceful!

I do not believe in either place, except I consider work hell every now and again, but I do find this facinating along with the paranormal. Care to share your story?

Yes I believe in both, and live my life accordingly because of that belief.

You would have to expand on that view for me. Heaven and hell are man made concepts. Believing that how "good" (also based on human morality) a person is determines where an intangible aspect of the self such as the "soul" spends all of eternity doesn't seem logical at all.

It's actually a very narcissistic viewpoint in my opinion. As if humanity is significant in the grand scheme of the universe.

I hope ther's a heaven. I can't imagine a loving God creating hell. I think it's human natiure to hope for heaven, because it seems part of our nature to want to go on. It also provides a lot of comfort to counter suffering. I go back and forth.

...
I believe that how good or bad a person is has absolutely nothing to do with whether they* spend eternity in heaven or hell.

If there is nothing after life, what reason would atheists have for any moral decision if there is no consequence for actions? Why not go out and steal, pillage and rape to your content if nothing matters?

I would say that it has to do with the consequences suffered for those crimes while living not dead. I would believe that atheists don't want to go to jail either! What the hell were you trying to prove here?

This is one of the dumbest questions ever. If you can't figure out why on your own you should be wearing a helmet everywhere or are probably an immoral bastard.

You do the right thing because you are a decent person, not because your afraid some sky man is going to torture you for all eternity if you don't. I find the former to be more noble than the latter.

doesnt make much sense...just because you dont believe in God doesnt mean you wouldnt want to live your life the best that you can.
