Wrong. 72 is the most points in a regular season game. The most ever was in the 1940 NFL Championship Game. The Chicago Bears beat the Washington Redskins 73-0 in that game as a statement. Most points by one team. Largest margin of victory ever in the NFL, regular or post season.

The secondary is awful, but at the same time a Tampa 2 doesnt work when you arent winning by 2 scores. Its the same secondary (actually better, because of fewer injuries) as last year. Powers is actually healthy as is Bethea.

If they go winless and get to draft luck, it is going to be awful interesting there next year because Peyton I can guarantee has no interest in retiring in a year or 2, but with Luck on the roster if he is not completely all world there is going to be a major push to get him out of town.

If he does revert back to the way he was, he feasibly could have 4-5 more high level years in him and Luck can't wait around like that.

I always figured Manning would be a Colts lifer, but he also wants Favre's passing records, and if the Colts draft Luck he will be getting them in another uniform if he stays healthy that long.

Yeah the Tampa 2 doesnt really work too well without a very good MLB either. Angerer isnt bad, but hes no play making MLB

Never understood why everyone thinks that transition would go so smoothly. It's not like Manning's just gonna be like "i'm on my downside of my career, here ya go, Kid, here's the keys to the franchise"

This team is just poor, and Caldwell needed to be fired yesterday. As of now Indy and Miami are in the Luck sweepstakes. If Indy wins I don't see how they can't take him. Manning wouldn't be the first great QB to have a location change. If Favre can go to a division rival, so can Peyton (to Tennessee). Even with Manning this isn't a playoff caliber team, why would he want to stick around?

Manning has shown nothing that should make anyone thing he will ever even suit up again. Lets put the 3-5 years talk on hold. If he plays again, he has 2 years tops at a high level. The Colts could trade him and get some good pieces for Luck.

If nothing else screams we need Luck, it is going 1-15 with Peyton off the team...

I've heard mannings do extremely well right now thanks to the stem cell treatment. I've read his movement is pretty much back to normal and he could be back in as little as another 3 weeks. If this is true I sit him out though for the rest of the year anyways. He will be able to play another 5 years bc he avoids so many hits.

Melvin Bullitt and Gary Brackett would help the defense They have 2 of the 3 Colts INTs this season. No Jacob Lacey yesterday. So half the secondary was gone. I like Powers. Angerer is a good MLB for stopping the run. Playing zone coverage is his biggest area of development. Seems when he tries to get deep in the cover 2 they throw it right in front of him. He stays right at the 7-10 yard marks and they go right over his head. He can fill run gaps, though. Freeney and Mathis are what they are. The whole defense, especially those 2, are built to play defense with the lead. Pin em back and go get the QB. Their best DT Foster is out for the year with the ankle.

What was out there wasn't the Colts defense. They arn't a great unit to begin with, but with all those key injuries they had no chance yesterday. This was a defense that had played 10 good quarters in a row (vs Pitt, vs TB, and 1st half vs Chiefs).

Until I see it, I'm not going to believe Peyton comes back and plays at the same level as before the injury -- and certainly not for any significant length of time.

I've had similar neck surgery and I know how limited it made me, and how susceptible I am to further injury and possibly something that could paralyze me (if I fell wrong, for instance). I can't imagine anyone, especially not someone who is set for life financially, ignoring those types or risks for a few more years (or Farve's records).

I guess it's possible he will heal enough, or they've been able to strengthen his neck enough, that he won't be susceptible to those types of injuries if he continues to play -- but I doubt it. Of course, I also doubt we'll hear the truth about his real health status anytime in the near future...unless he does decide the risk is too great and calls it quits.

I agree with this post. People that think the Colts have had a bad d over the years haven't been paying attention.

And that is why I started the thread. It looked to me that these players did not want to play. Receivers were not open...they were 5 yards open on every play. Nobody even tried to tackle anybody. In the second half, I watched Breez and his back up march down the field....mostly on the ground....for 3 scores...and they were simply trying to run the clock out.

When a pro team hangs 62 on anybody, it's usualle because of 3 or 4 returns for touchdowns...not last night.
