Struthers moved to the first game. South Range, Liberty, Champion and Newton Falls should stay in their usual spot. Highschoolsports.net has Jefferson Area playing CM at JA Falcon Pride on 9/14 and Lakeview coming to Knapic on 10/12. Those two dates also look solid. On the last two I guessed. I see that Brookfield has NF on game 10, so that why I slotted them in week 6, leaving Girard to fill the final game. I'm pretty sure it wll fall this way.
Sure Struthers-Campbell is usually week 10. However there was one year in the late 70's that had the Devis at Stuthers for week one. That one was good and packed. Sort of like a playoff atmosphere. I prefer week 10, but I'm sure there will be a very decent crowd for this "
game one" matchup. You would think so.
As for the comments regarding CM going undefeated this year, I predicted they had an awful good chance at it. Personally, the losses at Brookfield and LaBrae were shockers, period. Like the Struthers game, the team with the more talent didn't show up. No intensity, no sense of urgency. No fire whatsoever. It obviously was there against a very talented Girard team. Throw out some bone-head plays and the Girard game wouldn't have been even close.
My 2-cents: They may have been too overconfident going into the three losses. A little cockiness too, may have been a reason they lost the games they did. When they would show up, they were downright dangerous. Girard was a prime example.
Campbell has a nice nucleus coming back next year. They always have the talent. Maybe next year's leaders can learn from previous mistakes/blunders. Leadership was clearly lacking for most of the season. This has to change if Campbell wants to start making some nice runs in the playoffs. It's out there, they can do it.
Best of luck to the Devils next year. Except August 24th.
JMHO, I have the utmost respect for all the Campbell posters on this site. They are classy people who deserved a hell of a lot more that what they got this year. With the talent they have, making the playoffs each year should be a given. Anything less is unacceptable.
Good luck to the Devis in 2012.
