In 2011, it's 12 fumbles and 10 ints. or 22 total, our opponents meanwhile have only 4 fumbles and 9 int's or 13 total turnovers, so the int's are about even , but the fumbles we are giving up to many and not causing enough by the other teams!
Incidentally 5 of the 11 fumbles were in the 3 losses in 2010. So stop the fumbles and cause more fumbles by the opponents and improve our chances of winning.

More fun with numbers,
2010 Orrville avg 338.7 total yards per game, allowed 278.2 yards per game ( avg allowed was 216 per game 1st 6 games and 370 per game in last 4 games! )
2011 Orrville avg 335.9 total yards per game, allowed 227 yards per game.
So it appears as if our offense is about the same as last year (( 3 yds diff) and the defense started off slightly better last season ( 11 yds diff) and faded in the last 4 games. The fumbles this season is what has hurt us the most, especially in the red zone, but statistically we are about the same team. Hold onto the darn ball and we are winners

The "numbers man" comes thru again! Thank you, I enjoy the stats!

Limit turnovers = more wins...yeah I would say that pretty much sums things up.

I might add that our play has been below average at a certain position on offense (has not improved one iota since Chagrin Falls game) and add the fact our offensive playbook reads like a 1st graders Golden Book series...other than that...Oh, I know...its about time seniors step it up. 3 games left to play or 3 games left to start a whole new season...Decide what you want and go get it!!!

I am thinking you're looking at it the wrong way. This years offense is lacking line play overall to get an offense moving as our passing game is roughly the same as last season statistically, but our running game is short of last years numbers as Simpson and Monheim had around 2,000 yards and we rushed for over25 TD's, we aren't seeing that from our running game due to injuries, but I think the lack of offense is due to the lack of a balance of passing and running and I believe the offensive "problems" are not the fault of one position but I think it starts in the trenches, just as we thought it would at the end of last season. We have been spoiled of late with QB's that can run the ball ( maybe not you OQB, haha ) and a running QB would help. So we really haven't replaced Simpson's numbers or the overall line play. Oh and hang onto the dang ball offense

The Record Insider: This is a game featuring two surprise teams in the OCC, but not so pleasant in the case of Orrville. Just about the only thing the Red Riders have consistently shown is inconsistency, as they were shut out at home last Friday by Ashland in a game featuring four OHS turnovers, seven penalties, and just 208 yards of offense. Mason Monheim was limited to just 62 rushing yards -- more than 40 under his average -- and QB Kyle Lichti's 13-of-28 passing performance has him under 50 percent on completions for the season. Monheim continues to lead the defense with 72 tackles, while Dylan Lemon has eight sacks and nose guard Trevor White seven among his 61 stops. Drew Brenner has three INTs.
Madison, meanwhile, is off to a 6-1 start, matching its win total from the previous five seasons combined. It's the Rams' best start since 2001, and they did it by rallying from a 14-0 deficit last week at Clear Fork. I may have blinders on when it comes to looking at our offense from anothers standpoint, but 20 games as a starter and where have you seen improvement? It starts and stops with that position, but I agree there are plenty of other components involved in having good offensive output...

My point is that I think it should be better at this point in the season based on the amount of experience that is there in that position!

Our oppenents are stacking the box and forcing us to beat them through the air..If someone would have told me at the beginning of the season that by week 6 or 7 that oppenents would be forcing us to beat them through the air I would have said they are crazy...they are stopping the run and sitting/waiting on the homerun ball...easy enough! Because that is all we have!
