Both the Heat and Phillies had media and fan expectations of winning it all. Which choke job was worse?

I agree that it is the Heat, because of the hype and everything the idiots promised Miami. But Philly is no slouch in the choke department since they got bounced in the opening round of the playoffs.

I'd say the Phillies they lost in the first round, the Heat did make it to the Finals.

Even though I hate the heat, gonna have to go Philly. At least the Heat didnt lose in the opening round.

Gotta go with the Heat. As someone said, Phillies were just outplayed and the Cards have been hot the last month whereas the Phillies lost a lot of games before sweeping the Braves at the end of the season. The Heat just choked away the finals and let Dirk school them.

The Phillies should have won, but I think it gets ridiculous when it is a "choke job" every time a favorite gets beat. Teams get hot and cold in baseball, and in a short season...especially the division series, anything can happen.

Probably the Heat but it's close. Some said the Phillies had the best rotation in history. They won 102 games and if they didn't take their foot off the gas at the end of the year could have gotten close to 110. LeBron didn't play well in 4th quarters, but the Phillies line up completely blew cock after game 1 and Cliff Lee blew a 4 run lead in game 2.

The Heat. As said above. Three superstars in a sport where only five guys are on the floor at once have more of an impact on a team than three stud starting pitchers when only one of them is playing at any given time. Like last night...Halliday was clutch, but he had no offense to back him up, which would be the equal of LeBron scoring about 70 in a 95-85 loss.

I figure it'd go like this:

1st: 29 points.
2nd: 23 points. Announcers calling it best game ever already.
3rd: 16 points. Still gushing over him.
4th: 2 points on 1-9 shooting where he never attempts to drive the lane and only shoots once in the final four minutes. Team blows 15-point lead and loses by 10.

Don't really care -- but LOL at all the baseball teams that spent really big bucks and either didn't make the playoffs or got beat in the first round. I hope the Series is a bust and nobody watches.

They could still do that though.

It's gotta be the Heat, only because in my opinion baseball is the sport where it's least likely for the best team to win. Teams get hot, and it's much harder for 1 player (who isn't a pitcher) to make a difference.

The NFL is right up there, too, since to advance in the playoffs, you just have to be better for one game and not for a 5 or 7 game series. Which allows things like an 8-8 Seattle team that most people thought didn't even deserve to sniff the playoffs because they were a .500 team from the shittiest division to advance past the first round.

Well, if the NBA goes to a hard cap in the new CBA, there won't be any grandfather clauses allowed. The old contracts were under the old CBA. The Heat could be forced to break up the trio unless they all agreed to big pay cuts to stay together.

The owners really didn't like that those three conspired to pick which team they wanted, rather than letting the free market actually work. So, if there is no free market, there should be a hard cap that can't be finessed.

I'd say the Phillies. Mid season last year they put together what was supposed to be one of the greatest pitching staffs ever. They didn't make the World Series last year and are out after round one this year. At least the Heat made the Finals.
