Was talking with some of my co-workers about this today.

I was fortunate to see Emmitt Smith play some high school ball, he's my #1.

Locally, I'm undecided.....Ted Bell(Youngstown Cardinal Mooney, early 70's), and Maurice Clarett at WGH.

Who's yours?

Shawn Patton was nice runner for Campbell, too bad he made so many poor decisions off of the field.

Have seen a lot of good ones. I would consider Nate Kmic the best I ever played against.

Best game ever at Lake High School. 06 or 07 when Central played Piqua at Lake in 1st round of the playoffs. Sanzenbacher vs Saine. Watched that one.

Saw Borland, now a LB at Wisconsin, run the ball in HS. He was a beast.

The one best??? Some of the ones I would have to try to decide on would be Ricky Powers-Buchtel, Ray Williams-Benedictine, Tubbo Yetts -Big Red, Quincy Wilson-Weir High WV, and two that I am not sure of their exacts, but I want to say James Cotton, who would later play D at OSU (maybe a Cleveland School), and a kid named Melvin Cobbs from Woodland Hills PA. Hard for me to decide in that bunch, but I wouldn't want to have to play against any of them.

I forgot about Williams. He had an unreal day when I saw him play. I am sure that I am forgetting many others too..lol

Elzy had a game where he rushed for over 400 yards and scored, I believe, 7 TD's and he was on losing end. I never have seen such a dominant rushing performance end up on the losing end. JFK lost 64-62 to Girard in that game. It was also the highest scoring, non-OT game that I ever saw.

I have to Agree. He played in a area of Football that if you got 800 yards a season you where doing very good. He had over 3400 yards for his varsity career and i think 48 or 50 Td's.... I know now in the most recent times that almost easy to get.

But Teague was not Mr Ohio for nothing. That kid will have a nice future in college and I'm sure if he stays healthy and has a good career he will make a nice addition to any NFL team!!! Mark my words that kid will be awesome in collage!!
And most definitely Shawn Patton and Knew him in High School. And your right he lost his direction after high school. He had a try out for San Fran but screwed that up.
And i know ill sound Bias here again. Deland McCullough He didn't get many chances cause he was behind Patton. But when Patton Graduated he just destroyed Defences with his speed and power running. And was drafted by the Bangles was the leading preseason rusher till he blew his knee out in a late preseason game.

Kmic was damned good.

Chuck Webb from Toledo Macomber. Family friend coached him for the Mac-men and saw him 3-4 times. Went onto Tennessee and blew out one, maybe both, of his knees. When he rehabbed he tried to jump to the NFL with no luck.

In my area we don't have as many guys that go onto major college football, but Drew Cannon from New Lexington was pretty darn good
