But Teague was not Mr Ohio for nothing. That kid will have a nice future in college and I'm sure if he stays healthy and has a good career he will make a nice addition to any NFL team!!! Mark my words that kid will be awesome in collage!!
And most definitely Shawn Patton and Knew him in High School. And your right he lost his direction after high school. He had a try out for San Fran but screwed that up.
And i know ill sound Bias here again. Deland McCullough He didn't get many chances cause he was behind Patton. But when Patton Graduated he just destroyed Defences with his speed and power running. And was drafted by the Bangles was the leading preseason rusher till he blew his knee out in a late preseason game.

It seemed like the Red Devils always had a top level running back for a about a 5-6 period in the late 80's, early 90's. I miss those old MVC days.

Anyway, here's my list...

Maurice Clarrette -Warren G. Harding
Walter Reyes -Struthers
Lance Smith -Howland
Tony Elzy -Warren JFK
Shaun Lane -Hubbard
Terrell Smith -Alliance

Walter Reyes was a sick back for struthers. I remember him in the Campbell VS Struthers Playoff game at Knapick Field. That kid picked apart Campbell's defense in that game. He had a running style that i have yet to see. He would run straight up with a slight lean forward. And he was crazy fast. I called him the running deer. He could be full speed and change direction like Emmitt Smith. That was the best back i have ever seen out of srtuthers in my time!!!! And he went on to have a beautiful collage career at Syracuse and was in the running for the Heisman.

Edit: To truly understand how fast he was!! He would continually run in a 40 yard dash a 4.1-4.2!! Sick Just Sick!!!!

Yes it did, after Patton was former Miami OH, Cinci Bengal, current U of Indiana RB Coach, and son of Youngstown Radio Legend AC, Deland McCullough, Toby Walker, then Karlin Adams, Damon Love, Brandon Hamilton, Johnathan Brown, Walt Wright etc.

I see the reincarnation of that with Ja'Les, with some really nice backs coming up the ranks.

I remember him, a tad bit before my time as far as really following HS football, but I heard stories. For some reason I always thought he went to Mooney, but he went to East.

Also a former Miami Hurricane, I believe.

And THE greatest name EVER.

He ran for almost 300 yards on Big Red .. 70 something runs on fake punts but he was a real big name back in the 80's I actually had a glove on him on a special team ..He was small but fast as heck ..Yes he went to Miami of Fla

I haven't had the chance to see him play in person. Nothing against the current kids coming up, but I don't think they are playing the same level of competition week in and week out that the others you listed from 15-25 years ago played against. Not that it is their fault, but it makes and stats comparisons meaningless.

The Penny who went to Ursuline mid or late 90's was also talented. I'm thinking his first name was Shawn, but I can't remember for sure. He was an OSU recruit but had a neck injury that ended his career early. I remember an Ursuline-JFK game where he had 40+ carries.

Agreed. He was pretty sick.

I'll throw out Buster Howe, just for the heck of it.

Did someone say Buster Howe?

http://www.dailystandard.com/date/2003/10/28/news/headline4.htm

Article from local paper in 2003. The auther is someone many of you may recognize from JJHuddle and his computer points. Bruce Monnin was always right up to date on the computer points and I think helped out that main guy on their to figure it all out before the offical standings came out. I know in the past he had even caught mistakes and got them reported and corrected.
