maybe the front office will be embarrassed enough to make a fucking move now. This is a bad joke and they are pissing off the fan base more than usual.

As a Reds fan, I say that I would only be happy if it were in the regular season and not the playoffs(Roy Halladay).

I was hanging with a group of friends last year during the blown call game with Detroit. Two were Tribe fans, one's a Reds fan and I'm a Pirates fan. The general consensus by the time it had ended was pissed off at the blown call because the guy deserved the accomplishment.

Yeah...pretty much. Unless you don't appreciate the history of baseball(good and bad), seeing a no hitter or perfect game...even against your team is cool. With that said...right now is the worst possible time for it to happen. Fuck this team.

Forget the no hitter. I think this is the 4th 1 run game since the AS Break we have lost with a great pitching effort right???

Its a joke we havent made a move yet to strengthen this team. That is a potential 4 games we could have won with a competent offense, which could be had through a trade or two.

If I witnessed a no-hitter against the Tribe, I would appreciate the historical significance....but I would still be pissed...like I am right now.

I would deal some of the young talent if we had to. I'm tired of the "building for the future" bullshit with this organization. What has that mentality ever done for the Indians? There is no guarantee that they will be back in this position next year or the year after that

They'll just dump big contracts for career A ballers. You know, their signature move.

Anything is sellable when all the other team has to give up a couple A pitchers with bad arms.

Someone called into ABAO today and said the FO might use the attempt of getting Beltran(only to get turned by him) as a way of saying "hey at least we tried".

yeah, that is pretty much what they do. They gave out low ball offers to guys like Thome, Manny and others....and then they say they tried.

^^^^yeah, the jig is up, concerning the Dolans and negotiations....they always seem to come in 'second'. LOL. At this point, we might as well try to 'sell' Travis Hafner. The time for shipping a top prospect for a bat, has come and gone...the deal should have been made weeks ago when we had a couple of game lead. I'm not sure we can deal for anyone of enough significance to make a differnece at this point.

Found this on ESPN's website for what its worth. i guess its atleast fun to think about them getting someone.
Just three days remain until baseball’s non-waiver trade deadline, and the Hot Stove is on high boil. Rumors are swirling non-stop, as they will be for pretty much the rest of the week.

On Tuesday, I compiled a fully sourced analysis of 10 of the Cleveland Indians’ rumored top trade targets, which I updated yesterday to reflect changing conditions in the trade market. But both lists are now tragically out of date.

Here’s a summary of Wednesday’s news, deals, and whisperings about the Indians and the players they’re targeting:

-The Indians officially missed out on Carlos Beltran. The best hitter on the market was traded to the San Francisco Giants Wednesday, ending weeks of speculation about the possibility of him coming to Cleveland. It’s possible that Beltran’s no-trade clause was the problem—agent Scott Boras apparently scared the Indians off, and Beltran blocked a deal that would have sent him to Pittsburgh—but he said he was never approached about one.

-Cleveland is in on Ubaldo Jimenez, and if they’re willing to part with the right prospects—think Jason Kipnis or Drew Pomeranz, and that would just be a starting point—they “probably match up with the Rockies the best” of all the teams vying for Ubaldo’s services. However, the Indians are “a real longshot,” and the Yankees and Reds are the favorites to land him, assuming he’s traded at all.

-The Indians are still in on Hiroki Kuroda, even though they’re not the frontrunners. But even if they beat out the Yankees, Red Sox, Rangers, and Tigers, they might not be able to pry him away from the Dodgers; Kuroda has a no-trade clause that he isn’t expected to waive.

-With Beltran and Colby Rasmus now off the market, the Indians are among several teams still in on B.J. Upton. At least one team thinks he’d come more cheaply than Hunter Pence.

-Jamey Carroll is still on the Tribe’s radar, though the two sides haven’t made much progress lately. The Brewers are also in on Carroll.

If they aren't going to be buyers they better sell hafner while they can

???A trade for who. It's not like there's a lot of available people that had teams that were willing to deal. The way things work at trade deadline is that it's a domino effect at the last minute. Teams want as much value as possible for those they are dealing and they shop and wait, wait, wait until they see the most they can get and then they deal.

Lol at this front office they are a joke. They could have had rasmus for really nothing. He is still young and considered at one point s top 10 prospect in all of baseball. The kid has some talent. Right now I would give up anyone to get pence except drew Pomeranz. Grady will more than likely be gone after this year.

1. That is a good thing.

2. If you took the best two bats available out there and put them on the Tribe's roster it wouldn't be enough to make the team a World Series team.

At the begining of the season this team was said to be an average team with better than average pitching and no depth. It still is. If a move can be made to improve the team's depth they should do it. Anything else just to simply try and win the division is silly.

You can have the best of both worlds with pence. He is locked up for another 2 years and can be a huge piece going into next year when we are suppose to compete. I think that is the best move we can make for this year and the future
