Usually I am out on the front porch watching it roll in. The only time I have been truly worried was when I lived in Kansas and the news said for anyone who lives near 23rd st or wakurusa in Lawrence needs to take cover now our radars are indicaiting a tornado has touched down when i lived on that exact coroner. The 2 years i was in kansas i never did see any tornandos and actually I felt like their were more warnings in Columbus then Lawrence. I do know about 10 years before I moved their the apartments next door got leveled by one though.

I love storms and I've seen a tornado first hand before too. Still think they're cool as hell.

I was up from 1-4 tracking them. I am a weather geek. Got pretty nasty here north of Lancaster for a little while.

No I don't freak out. Growing up we lived in a trailer for a while. I never once remember leaving or taking cover. We used to go out on the patio and watch with the neighbors. The only time I've ever took shelter was when we lived in a house with a basement for about a year. Then it was more for fun than anything else since there was a pool table down there. Dad would still be out there on the front porch watching the storm.
Tuesday the tornado sirens went of about 1250. I was just getting home from work so I turned on the TV and the storms were still in Greensburg Ind...still an hour away. Then 15 minutes before the storm I heard the sires again from our County and Hamilton County. We just hung out in the living room watching Weather Porn and the weathermen freak out. (and laugh at Justin for taking cover...I KID !!!) It didn't hit us too bad where I was at. Some wind, little rain, and not even some awesome thunder and lightning.

Love a good storm. Wife on the other hand, heads to the basement first sign of rain. More for the kids, but her freaking out, does not help the kids. Id rather be outside watching.

I never minded storms much after going to college in Arkansas. It was a normal thing. However, after "the train" rolled through on Wednesday around 3 a.m., things have changed. It was a confirmed EF-0 tornado with what some NWS investigators (who were in our hood on Thursday) have said packed 100 mph winds. Our house now needs a new roof, a tree is down and some other damage as well. When your entire neighborhood is walking around with flashlights at 4 a.m., there might be a problem. Something I don't want to experience again.
