Sorry, one of my majors at OSU was History, specifically the Cold War, and then my job in nukes, is to look at the Cold War and its legacy.

No problem....you're one of the few on here who knows what the hell you're talking about

Oh, come on. Public opinion doesn't a good president make.

What is your reasoning for this? I get 'Nam, but is that your only reason for saying so?
1.Vietnam. LBJ is the reason my uncle and 58,244 other men are dead.
2.He more than likely played a major role in the killing of JFK

I'm sorry about your uncle, and that will always be why war should be avoided when possible.

Moreover, I too think Vietnam should have been left alone. There was no sense in going.

I'm curious why you think this. Possible? Sure. Not so sure one can say "more than likely" though.

It was completely obovious that LBJ hated JFK's guts, and only accepted the VP slot because he thought there was a chance something may happen to Kennedy and he would then become President. Also, who is the government would have had enough power to pull off the coverup of JFK's death. There is a new book coming out about LBJ that says the reason he didn't run in '68 is because he had been told that if he did, there

To be sure, hypothetical motive can be established. However, as far as I've heard, that's all there is. Not enough to suggest he was "probably" involved, but certainly enough to say that he had motive.

The speculation as to why he didn't run in '68 is just that.

He still wasn't a good president, though.
