Seems to be a few beer stories are changing. Just read an article the other day how Porters were NOT named after the English Porters that loved their rich darkness on a cold English night. I know there are many speculations concerning beer now that it's become more mainstream, but I choose to believe the Old School stories since mainly none of any of the stories can be proven, plus they Old School ones are cooler. I also believe some writers might also be trying to make a name for themselves with the alternative stories concerning beer styles.BORIStheCrusher;1303535 wrote:While this is by far the most common belief, there are starting to be quite a few people/articles that are now saying otherwise.

Look what I had last night:

It was pretty good, but I still prefer Double Bastard.

Oh, and I'm currently insanely jealous. The Giant Eagle near me isn't carrying it. Not sure who is.

That's top of my fridge, but yes. Probably needs a wipe down. I'll let the lady of the house know.

What, do you only have a mini fridge, or did you place it on top of your regular fridge, then climb up to get a good pic?Commander of Awesome;1304149 wrote:That's top of my fridge, but yes. Probably needs a wipe down. I'll let the lady of the house know.

I never had Hoppin' Frog's IPA because I knew their stouts were what they were famous for, but I had their IPA last night and it was pretty good. Not outstanding but very balanced.

I was not a big fan of Ichabod. If I'm going pumpkin beer, and no Pumking is available, I'll go for a Weyerbacher or a Dogfish Head Punk.gorocks99;1304543 wrote:Had my first Pumking tonight. Hate hate hated it. Ichabod from New Holland was MILES better IMO.

If you like Russian Imperial Stouts, buy a sixer of Bell's Expedition Stout. Fucking delicious.

Gonna try a different store this evening, in Indiana. Looking to probably pick up some Fat Tire variety, and probably some everclear to sip.

+1 to the far tire, i'm a fan. Everclear...not so much. I bought a couple of Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stouts. They're pretty cheap at my beer store, about $3.50 for 550ml about 18oz.ernest_t_bass;1304695 wrote:Gonna try a different store this evening, in Indiana.
