I ended up having four Ten Fidies (sp?) and four shots of vodka. Was up until about 4:30am.
Haven't done that in a long time, but I just slammed some water before bed and ended up being fine this morning.

My days of drinking until the early morning are long gone. Was the norm for years until my shift change a few months ago. I'm lucky now to make it until midnight.O-Trap;1306455 wrote:I ended up having four Ten Fidies (sp?) and four shots of vodka. Was up until about 4:30am.

Just had a DFH Theobroma. Not too bad. Different in a good way.

It's really not my thing. Very uncharacteristic for me. I'm usually up late, but I rarely have more than a drink or two after 9 pm.Curly J;1306884 wrote:My days of drinking until the early morning are long gone. Shit man, I didn't used to start until after 10:30pm, when I got off work. Now it's more like 7pm or so when I pop the top.O-Trap;1306917 wrote:It's really not my thing. Very uncharacteristic for me. I'm usually up late, but I rarely have more than a drink or two after 9 pm.
I concur and Reps were given. (just now to Mr Trap and previously to Boris for his ETBish post)Commander of Awesome;1306919 wrote:Fun every once and while. Reps for doing it right.

I honestly skipped that stage. Even in college, I was one of those guys who took his studies (more the learning than the grades, but both to some degree) really seriously. Plus, it was a dry campus.Curly J;1306923 wrote:Shit man, I didn't used to start until after 10:30pm, when I got off work. Now it's more like 7pm or so when I pop the top.

I only hit that stage I was talking about when I was in my 40's. Guess I'm a late Bloomer...we won't bring up my Military Days.

Just to temper your guys' anger over Goose Island, ABInBev is pouring tons of money into GI and letting them run their own ship. They've outsourced brewing of their more basic beers (Honkers Ale, 312, etc.) but have also built the largest barrel-aging warehouse in the United States. It seems they're going all-in on the Bourbon County branded stuff, which to be honest are some of the most highly regarded beers in the world. While I hate ABInBev as much as the next guy, I like that they're sort of letting Goose Island still do their own thing and make fucking badass beers.
Also, I'm jealous at whoever said they were getting some Bourbon County Stout (BORIS?)
The good news is, my brother lives in Chicago and I will be asking for several bottles of BC Stout for Christmas.

More or less, I haven't like their attitude of buying and cheapening up to this point. I even sympathize with drinkers of beers I don't like who can taste the difference.
But as I said, I'll give GI a shot when they bring back Night Stalker, but based on their history, I'm hesitant of being hopeful.
The friend I was up with so late on Saturday night told me he had just bought some. He has excellent beer taste and is a jazz musician, so it seemed like an obligation that he do so. He hadn't gotten into it yet. Glad to know it's decent. I may try to find it.Commander of Awesome;1307635 wrote:Drinking Mile Davis' Bitches Brew. Not bad.
Also, good news ... the Giant Eagle craft brew guy said that he may be getting some Lukcy Basartd in tomorrow. I'm weathering the storm to get there if so.

Much has changed in the last year or so. Ever since they did the redesign there, they've had a quality beer selection and a craft brew professional who, in my opinion, seems to know his stuff. They were having a beer tasting of the new Oskar Blues beers they're carrying when I was there.Pick6;1307702 wrote:on howe? wasnt aware giant eagle had a craft brew guy at all..
AND they're going to have taps very soon, and after the initial choices, he'll be deciding what will be on tap. I'm pretty STOKED!

It has a strong honey taste and aroma. If he enjoys the sweetness of honey I think he'll enjoy it.
