Spot on. When InBev bought Goose Island and moved a TON of their production from Chicago to upstate New York, I stopped buying their beer. Fuck those guys now.MoldyDog;1305127 wrote:This is a really great article. Watch out if you are a Goose Island fan.

Mr Tate IS the OC expert on Ciders...cause he won't drink beers. I trust him.

This goddamn 6er of Fat Tire was well worth the trip. Delish.
I live close to Indiana, so if anyone would like some FT in exchange for other good shit, I'm gay(m).

Didn't read the article. No need as soon as I saw InBev/AB in your reply. I quit them after their buyout too.

I gave Goose Island a shot after the takeover. Then they stopped brewing Night Stalker, my favorite from their repertoire. I haven't bought Goose Island since, because fuck AB InBev!

Made a couple White Russians. Then switched over to some Weyerbacher because the headliner I'm working with this weekend (that is staying at my house) is more into pumpkin beer than I am. I'm pretty drunk. And all my Weyerbacher is gone...I'm very bummed right now.

While it sucks AB/InBEV took over GI, I'd be shocked if it affected their quality. GI makes some amazing beers that there is a huge demand for in the craft world. Truth is Goose Island won't be the last craft brewery to hook up with the big guys, we'll see more and more over the years. I don't agree with everything AB does, but at the same time can't blame GI for wanting to make money. In the end they make fantastic beer which is all I care about.MoldyDog;1305127 wrote:This is a really great article. Watch out if you are a Goose Island fan.

No longer a Oskar Blues virgin. Had a few of them last night. The Ten-Fidy was damn good. It reminded me of 2 other Stouts I've had. (Expedition and Black Chocolate) On the palate it reminded me of the Expedition with it's 'coffeeness', but the finish had the sweetness of the Brooklyn Black Chocolate. Pretty interesting. Only had one Ten-Fidy last night and plan on having more tonight or later this afternoon even.

I'm not holding my breath that it will be the same recipe. I'll give it a fair shake, though.BORIStheCrusher;1305565 wrote:Just read that Night Stalker along with Big John are making a return very soon.

Was just at Giant Eagle, hoping they had Lukcy Basardt in (they didn't), and I saw that their craft beer expert (who really is solid) was holding a tasting for Oskar Blues. They had Ten Fidy, Old Chub, and G'Knight in the tasting, so I tried all three. The G'Knight was as perfect a double red as I've ever had. The Old Chub was good ... hoppier than I expected, but not in a bad way. Ten Fiddy was great. One of the thicker Imperial Stouts I've ever had (similar to BORIS or Rasputin in thickness).
I walked out of the store with a four-pack of Ten Fidy. Enjoyment to follow. Shenanigans will ensue.
