I bought 2 growlers today from the new Jungle Jim's location in Eastgate. Mt. Carmel 3rd Shift Imperial Stout and a 21st Amendment Zambo. (Never tried this one except for the sample today)

Where do you buy your glasses? I found 2 really nice snifters a while ago, but broke one on Thursday. Slipped out of my hand while washing (Sober) and it fell maybe 6 in tops. Thin glass and broke. Looking around on the interwebs today, I'm surprised. They're actually kind of expensive. Cheapest I've found is $7 one from Founders. I'd rather not pay $7 a snifter and would prefer a plain.

I honestly buy them at garage sales, flea markets, and Goodwill. :D

You're going to get raped if you plan to buy all of your glasses online. I've got a couple nice ones (Chimay chalice and Duvel tulip), but you can get good glasses at random stores. I happened to stop in the dollar store the other day and they have a shit load of nonic pints, tulips, chalices, mugs etc.. all for a dollar. I plan on going back to pick up a couple nonic pints and maybe a chalice or two.

I drunk all mine out of a pint glass. What's the difference?

Oxidation, which can affect the taste. However, you'll be fine drinking it out of most glasses.

Some glasses can enhance certain characteristics of specific styles of beers. Not going to make a huge difference, but overall can improve the drinking experience.

Most of my Pilsner glasses I've won at beer tastings. Some I've gotten from different breweries and events for about $3.00 a piece. My Sam Adams glasses I bought where I buy my beer. They were more than likely flawed as the silkscreen on them aren't perfect, I got them for around $4.00 each as compared to the full price from SA. Love those glasses.

You don't want to know how many snifter glasses or specialty Stone glasses I've broken over the years. I mainly use my Pilsner Pint glasses for everything now.

Biggest thing for me, is a Snifter makes it more difficult to take big swigs of the beer. Thus I savor the beer more, lasts longer, and I end up not drinking as much/getting as drunk (if I'm planning on having more than 1). Also it really enhances the smell I feel, which translate to better taste. I drink a beer out of a pint glass like a college kid. In a snifter, I'm more adult. :D

Oh also, with a snifter, your whole hand is under the glass, which helps warm the beer up faster. This is particually great for Imperial Stouts or bigger beers, as drinking them straight out of the fridge (IE ice cold) dulls the flavor. Around 50/55 is the preferred temperature for these beers. I lack the patience usually to sit my bomber on the kitchen counter for 20 min prior to drinking it as it taunts me.

Good idea. Don't those have that 'special lining' that they advertised about when Keystone first came out in the late 80's?

My wife spent yesterday and today in the central part of the state. Came back about a half hour ago with a growler of Buckeye Lake's porter.

Best. Wife. Ever.

Have had a ton of beer today. Knocked out almost all of my Left Hand 12-Pack.

3 - Stranger American Ale
3 - Sawtooth Ale
2 - Polestar Pilsner
2 - Milk Stout

And now I'm starting on the BL porter.

I've spread it all out, so not so much as a buzz. Helps that Left Hand is usually pretty low volume.

And the brewing is finished. Time for bed since I'm getting up in the morning to go run a zombie obstacle 5k in Hubbard.

I drank a shit ton yesterday, but my micros were not all that great. Had both the Pumking and the Rogue bombers, pluse some different Leini's and Horny Goats. If I'm going to do this snob thing, then I'm going to only focus on high ABV for now on!

Look for some English Style Ales if you are looking for a session beer (meaning drinking a lot through out the day). They usually have a lot of flavor and are lower ABV. Just don't give up on the lower ABV's as there are some good ones out there.

If you are looking for high ABV look for Imperial Stouts, Barley Wine Style, and BIG IPA's. Also Belgian Strong Ales (quads). You will pay more for these though.
