In light of the first little skirmish we've had on this thread in what I'm pretty sure was over a year, I decided to go pick up a bomber of ST Pumking.

Yep. Well we a can't be like CCRunner...Dang!!! (And reps to you when I can)
I've been on a Two Hearted kick lately. Something about that all Centennial hop brew. Freaking Yum. I did have a couple Green Flash West Coast IPAs last night to break up the Two Hearted kick.
Just getting used to getting off at 6pm instead of 1030pm. I haven't got off work before 7pm since July of 2005. Today was the first day and I like it as I can start drinking earlier...Which means earlier drunken posts for sonofanump to read.

Finished my bottles of Troegs HopBack Amber Ale - I really like ambers and this was a little more hoppy than I like, but still pretty good.

Just bought a sixer of Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Cider and I have to say, might be my favorite cider I've had yet. Very good taste.
Yes, I'm a man who drinks cider. Wasn't blessed with tastebuds that like real beer, sorry guys.

Don't worry about the Cider. You are not a true Ghey until you add Blueberry's to a Blueberry Cider. (which I'm guilty of)Terry_Tate;1249561 wrote:Just bought a sixer of Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Cider and I have to say, might be my favorite cider I've had yet. Very good taste.

Just an FYI, Angry Orchard is a Sam Adams product made in this not so Great Beer State with their funny laws. Well it's made in Cincy from what I hear.

Helped a buddy of mine brew his first Russian Imperial Stout (My first home brewing experience) today, while brewing we had a Brux (Sierra Nevada & Russian River colab) and a Little Sumptin Wild Ale. Both were good, but the Brux was fantastic.

Well from what I understand a Russian Imperial Stout is a lengthier and more ambitious beer to brew. Overall I thought it was a lot of fun, I think brewing with someone who's brewed a lot thus able to answer questions etc... really helped. Would do again for sure. The worst part is the waiting, I dont think ours will be ready until Oct.

RIS' are more ambitious beers, in general beers with higher alcohol content are trickier to brew because you need more grains and then also have to make sure the yeastie-beasties are of a strain and healthy enough to continue thriving up to the alcohol percentage you're looking for.Commander of Awesome;1250195 wrote:Well from what I understand a Russian Imperial Stout is a lengthier and more ambitious beer to brew. Brewing with someone who's experienced is definitely a good way to get into the hobby.
As for the waiting, it's not so bad if you brew relatively frequently as you'll always have something that's about to be ready then. Which is where we're at right now. Brewing a bit more frequently than once a month now.

Grabbed a couple of Growlers yesterday while in Kentucky.
Brooklyn Blast. I hadn't had this in years. The Wife and I ended up putting away the whole growler last night. Awesome beer.
The other growler is Barrel Aged Storm King. This will be opened tonight after she gets off work.
I also picked up several sours too. Including a Jolly Pumpkin Pumpkin, Aged Petrus, and a Mikkeller Funky-e-star.
I did get 2 bottles of Cincinnatus from Listerman Brewing made in 2011. (now Triple Digit Brewing) Its a barrel aged stout with only 2324 12oz bottles being produced. Might have to stash this one.
