What other than failures does Obama have that he can mention?

Obama care …….. fraud the American people
Stimulus ……. didn’t work
Pork program ………still part of democrat agenda
Unemployment ……. higher that ever
Illegal Immigration ……. no support to curtail the problem
Job killing Energy plan ……..The Gulf spill demonstrated this guy is clueless
Foreign Policy blunders …….support the enemies
Weakening of the Dollar ……&#8230rint more and make it worthless
ACORN Fraud ……….Obama trained
How to bow ……..
Socialism values ………not working in Europe
Hate for Capitalism …….beat the rich and entitlement to those who don’t contribute
Small Business worthless programs ……..don’t get me started
Iraq less troops and more sent to Afghanistan ……. took Bush plan and succeeded and then sent the same amount of troop to Afghanistan
Spend what you don’t have …………destroy my kids and grandkids future

I don't remember the last SOTU that I watched...I think I'll see if I can find the episode or iCarly where Spenser dates Gibby's mom. That one never fails to entertain.

I'd actually like to go back to the Jefferson days when the SOTU was just read in Congress. The President could also give the address from the Oval Office.
Either way, we need to get rid of this awful political dog and pony show.

Are you sure? Define work. If by working you mean not taking the economy into a full blown depression or worse recession, then it worked. It stabilized the economy. Now, it needs to improve, which is a lot harder.

Technically no. It was around 9.8 a few month ago, now we are at 9.4. Still awful, but not above 10% and it has largely stabilized.

Illegal Immigration ……. no support to curtail the problem

Blame everyone, not just him on that one. No one in Congress has the balls to tackle it. Plus, Obama has actually increased deportations from Bush levels, just look at the DHS, ICE info.

Job killing Energy plan ……..The Gulf spill demonstrated this guy is clueless

Did Hurricane Katrina point out that Bush was pointless or did it show that big government cannot solve problems quickly without the military? Yes, his energy problem needs some major tweaking though. The "all of the above" is a great policy but he hasn't followed it.

Please list them. I don't think Obama has done very poorly here. Foreign policy doesn't really change much when you change Presidents in my opinion. The military will do what is best.

A little bit of both. Arizona is right to do what they did because DC was too weak and stupid to pass anything the last 3-4 years. Bush tried in 06 07 I think and both sides balked at him.
I really don't think Obama has an immigration policy, as he is doing both deportations and fighting states sealing of borders.

Haven't watched a SOTU ever, I think. I can't stand listening to a politician get on national TV and lie straight to my face. Not to mention all the incessant clapping and cheering and the obligatory shots of the ugly mug of Pelosi. Ugh, no thanks.

I already know what The Obamanator is going to say so why bother? Why do I want to see BHO's latest Grecian Formula treatment, listen to him chastise & belittle, and tell us why the Feds should spend more money? No thanks.

Watching some of the "reaction groups" the response has been much more positive from Republicans than I would have thought. Been in the 50+% range for almost the whole thing and saw it spike to 75+% several times.

Definitely his most "Pro-American" speech, not sure it is that effective. It is the type of speech that would win a high school senior a patriotism award, but from the POTUS it rings a bit hollow. It hurts his credibility that his own history never involved the "innovation" and "investments" he speaks about, despite his high education level.

I agree with CCrunner that the high speed rail comment was the worst part so far, 80%? Has he seen a map of the U.S.?

Best part is admitting the 1099-MISC requirement in the healthcare bill would be a total disaster and is an idiotic inclusion. Repeal that part now.

The HSR would be over 100+MPH, and that would be like Asia, which would be great.


I thought it was ok. Like most SOTU fluff crap it was full or rhetoric and ideas.
Reforming the tax system, fixing infrastructure and innovation/ education were the main points I took away.

80% of Americans, not 80% of America.

ATT has coverage for 97% of Americans and their coverage map looks like swiss cheese.

But yeah, it is nice to see him say "you're right, that's a bad idea".
