The Big Ten got terrible spots all day, it started with the NW/TT game. Big Ten could have easily won 3 games today.

I don't care who played Alabama, no one was going to win that game. That was a trap game. 'Bama is one of the top 3-4 teams in the country.

PSU had to play in Florida's back yard. Like they really stood a chance.

Michigan's defense is terrible, so seeing them lose was no surprise. They can't stop a Pop Warner team. Oh... and might I add how the game was played in SEC country too.

Wisconsin choking to TCU is inexcusable. I'll admit now, TCU was better than I had originally believed them to be, but there's still no excuse for Wisconsin losing.

And how convenient for Northwestern who was missing their starting QB and had to play IN Texas against Texas Tech. Northwestern never stood a chance in that game.

So all in all, today really shouldn't have come as THAT big of a surprise - other than the Wisconsin game.

UCF would beat about 9 of the Big Ten schools.

Serious question...
In what year will the Big 10 be back? Each year we hear they are on par with the SEC or close. Most people thought last year was the turn around, but after today...the big 10 looks like the past 7 years. Will they rebound in a couple, 5 years, or is the south and west going to be the areas that strive? Recruiting is alot better down south and I dont know if that will change. OSU wont have problems with recruiting ever though.

I'm an Ohio State fan, as long as they win I could give a crap with what the rest of the Big 10 does. I HATE Wisconsin, Michigan and Penn State. The rest of the Big 10's performance isnt going to have a negative impact on the Buckeyes as far as recruiting, wins etc... The Big 10 has sucked in the BCS era and it hasnt stopped the Buckeyes from being one of the top 5 programs in the country

I totally agree with you on this, but it is nice for your/our conference to get a little respect during these bowl games.

But it doesn't make the team you root for look very good.

I just wish that whatever coach in our league that's trying to answer the questions about the national perception would just give a straightforward answer of "We're not worried about that. We're trying to improve as a football team everyday and just work hard at winning football games."

I know that this won't happen, and that the perception is what it is, but just tired of watching coaches answer the questions and look like idiots when doing so, even Tress sometimes.

Who said they left.
The Big 10 isn't the best football conference in the Nation but they are in the top 4 year in year out. OSU is an Elite program and that is all that really matters to me.

They havent been elite in awhile, not in top 2. I dont think 4th is acceptable is it?

By that logic LSU is irrelevant almost every year.

The Big 10 might want to stay away from the Rose Bowl. They have only won 1 game there since 2000. Wow

I think this fiasco looks particularly bad for the Big 10 because they have seen one Co-Champ with only 1 loss get blown out 49-7, and another 1 loss Co-Champ (who was putting up 70+ seemingly every week against fellow Big 10 schools) manage to put up only 19 in a loss to a non-AQ school.

We are going to be laughed at (and rightfully so) over this embarrassment, but heaven help us all if the Buckeyes lose.

Then again, even if they win at this point the media will be taking pot shots at us over the 5 suspended players all playing, so I guess really there is nothing to stop the narrative at this point about the general weakness of the conference.

Are you talking about OSU or the Conf? Being in the top 4 (which means they could be 1,2,3 or 4th) year in year out is acceptable for a Conf.
If your implying that OSU isn't an "Elite" program than your just dead wrong.

How many BCS conferences are there? There is no excuse for one of the biggest/baddest conferences to be in the middle of the pack. But, yeah...LSU is irrelevant with 2 titles and a handful of top 5 finishes in the past 10 years out of 119 teams. LOL

Why is there a Big Ten venting thread?

Would I prefer that Big Ten teams win, sure, I enjoy seeing teams like Wisconsin and PSU do well. Does this frustrate me in any way? Nope. As long as the Buckeyes win I am happy.
