Just heard NBC's Brian Williams refer to it as "the Holy Koran" for the first time. I guess the PC folks got to him. Usually media just refers to these books as The Bible or The Koran. I found it interesting because I've not heard any MSM talking heads use the "Holy" word before.

The media wouldn't dare say anything bad about the Koran, they'd be afraid of getting their buildings bombed.

Its just silly. They are more outraged about the possibility of books being burned than we were about Jihad cutting the head off of daniel pearl.

There is a thing called the printing press ya know? you can make more books.

The Imam has been saying that the whole time. It's the crazy pastor who said it was moving.

You've never heard the media use the term The Holy Bible? I have heard both the Bible and the Koran termed "Holy" in the media before. Admittedly, I haven't heard either used often, but I have heard both called the Holy Bible/Koran.

Why is he a crazy pastor? If anyone is crazy its anybody who believes burning books is offensive.

About 15 years ago, Marilyn Manson created a huge uproar (in the christian community) by burning Bibles on stage. Although the media was quick to back Manson.

I thought,, well its his concert.. no biggie.. I just dont get it.

Because burning a book, really any book. Is stupid.

I'm not offended by anyone who burns a Bible or a Koran or a copy of 1984 but I think it's a dumb and childish thing to do. It's basically saying "here's this thing you like and I'm going to smash it".

Because the pastor's intent, as was Marilyn Manson's, is to insult and offend a particular group. That is not only stupid, but the actions of a person that is not of sound mind.

You're comparing what a pastor (a supposed man of God) and Marilyn Manson do. Don't you think a pastor should maybe not act like Marilyn Manson? Just a thought....

I think it was Williams, on election night 2008, who used the phrase "We haven't won yet" when referring to the then-undetermined outcome of the election. What a tool.

Haha- you beat me to it. I could see being upset if people from that church invaded a few mosques and stole some Korans, but whatever. I still think they're wrong to do it, but they have a right to be wrong in this case.

Maybe this pastor got what he wanted all along....to stop the construction of the 9/11 shrine to radical Muslims.

Maybe he caused enough of a stir to get done what no other group could get done?

Maybe he played his cards perfectly and is able to stop the NYC Imam Rauf from causing a revolt in lower Manhattan?

Maybe...just maybe...the simple pastor in Gainesville, FL, knew how to work the system to get what he, and other Christians, wanted?

Maybe he's just smarter than the average bear?

He tried a tactic that no one else even contemplated. I think he wins and the mosque builders are on the extreme defensive. If they decide he's a POS and decide to build their mosque, then it will be interesting if he does an about-face and goes through with his infidel acts.

Whoever is willing to kill over a burning of a book is the mental person(s). Can we please get this straight?

1. Cool as hell if he succeeded in getting the mosque moved

2. If not, and the iman truly lied about it, call off the Koran burning and start planning for the mosque burning.

The Imam never said it would be moved. Rauf said he hasn't spoken with the pastor. The pastor said he spoke with another Imam.

Whoever is willing to kill over the burning of a book is a crazy person. This is correct.

But whoever is willing to riot and scream and get upset over the building of a community center with a religious affiliation is also a crazy person.

Burning holy books is immature, stupid, and mean. Not to mention a waste of money. But none of those things are illegal in our country so we're free to do them even though we shouldn't.

Radical christians burn books. Radical muslims burn Christians. The media defends one group as the religion of peace and villifies the other as intolerant.
