At some point in time we need to quite relying on legislative activity to massage our economy. Our legislators need to set the parameters and guideline we function by and then permit the people to function within them.

What we have today is our legislators seeking to steer our economy with law.

Ohh,that's right, they nominated 3 Tea Party nitwits and they all lost(including Nevada where Angle was up almost 15 points at one point)

Sincerely,

Rand Paul and Marco Rubio

BTW, Christine O'Donnell (1) + Sharron Angle (1) = 2

The Tea Party is comprised very simply of Americans who believe in fiscal discipline and in adhering to the constitution. See how simple it is; why can't the liberal socialists understand this?

Conservatism is what we used to call Americanism. Tea Partiers are the backbone of Americanism ............ keep beating on them ..... see what happens.

OK Quaker,if all these Tea Partiers are Great Americans, where the hell were the majority of them BEFORE January 20th,2009?

Yeah, but with the modern Senate needed 60 votes to do anything, they have gained enough influence to pretty lock the Senate if they do not get their own policies passed.

Sitting back thinking it was IMPOSSIBLE for:

obama/pelosi/reid to seize the auto industry
obama/pelosi.reid to seize the health care industry
obama/pelosi/reid to run multi trillion dollars deficits
obama/pelosi/reid to add more to the national debt than the prior 210 years combined
obama/pelosi/reid to side with the enemies in the fight against illegal aliens
obama/pelosi/reid to attempt to shut down industry via cap-n-tax
obama/pelosi/reid to increase taxes on taxpayers amidst the worst recession in 70 years
obama/pelois/reid to forge ahead with socialist/marxist policies in the fact of 10+% unemployment
obama/pelosi/reid to encroach on nearly every ounce of liberty THE PEOPLE might have left

Thankfully, The People are no longer sitting back.

And blame the Dems for it, since they still control 2/3 of the government. ;)

When was the last month we had 10%+ unemloyment?? Almost a year?

How have they raised taxes yet??

And please, please, please, please, please tell me any right or liberty you have or anyone has had taken away in the last two years? You wont be able to

And what did you want him to do?? Let the auto industry go under and let the US lose almost 2 million jobs?

You people simply amaze me...you want him to fix everything that's wrong, but you don't want him to be able to do what he needs to do to fix it. You can't have it both ways.

I am not sure that is true. The national debt is almost $14 trillion. That means they added $7 trillion?

Ty Webb;566096 wrote:When was the last month we had 10%+ unemloyment?? Almost a year?

If you look at how many have QUIT looking for work, I believe this is called the "underemployment" number, then it is about 22.5% according to the attached link - http://uspoverty.change.org/blog/view/forget_unemployment_the_underemployment_rate_is_225 I have seen this around 17% for most of the summer. So...to answer your question....official unemployment has been under 10%. If you include those working parttime and who've quit looking...then it's VERY much over 10%.
How have they raised taxes yet??

Yes...on cigarettes and tanning salons.
And please, please, please, please, please tell me any right or liberty you have or anyone has had taken away in the last two years? You wont be able to

The right to breathe without being penalized. While the tax money has not been yet collected, the law is in effect, so, yes, the right to breathe free of taxation has been infringed. How about the rights of the farmers in the San Jaocquin Valley in California? The feds have turned off the irrigation water in order to try to save fish bait. These farmers have had their right to farm removed by Uncle Sam. There are others...like the EPA and wetlands decision, calling carbon a poison....try staying up with current events a little better, Ty.

And what did you want him to do?? Let the auto industry go under and let the US lose almost 2 million jobs?

Yes, if the market declares them as bankrupt. The market share they have will be absorbed by other car manufacturers and they will hire the workers...who would likely lose their union status however.

You people simply amaze me...you want him to fix everything that's wrong, but you don't want him to be able to do what he needs to do to fix it. You can't have it both ways.

My answers are above in bold. I'm not very good at responding to each item as the copying and responding techniques suck on my laptop...it keeps rolling the screen on me.

It is cap and tax. The socialists tried to cram it through with a benevolent sounding moniker like, "cap and trade" Simply put...the program caps how much carbon can be used and taxes the amount used over the cap.

It is hard to say that those jobs would have been absorbed soon enough. It would take years to replace those jobs. I believe that the takeover, while not politically popular, kept us out of a depression.

Come on yourself, Ty. I answered your questions truthfully. Now you are changing the questions or denying the answers. I guess you aren't satisfied with the truth, but that's your issue, not mine.

Have the farmers rights been taken away you ask? Seriously? Have you read anything about this issue? I'm not going to type for hours to enlighten you, so do your homework. Yes...the rights for the farmers to farm their land has been taken away by the federal authorities because they turned off the irrigation water they desperately need in order to produce their crops. So yes....their right to earn a living has been truncated by the feds in order to save some habitat for a 2 inch long freaking minnow.

You asked if taxes have been raised...I cited 2 of them...and you blow a gasket. So no....I'm not F-ing kidding you. There is also a $750 tax on breathing, but it's not in effect yet...however it is the law of the land.

So....the people that have given up looking for employment don't exist for you. Fine. I thought your party was for the "common man". Hhhmmm...I guess we can throw that crap out with all the other falsehoods of the socialists/statists.

I am better than that and you need to be informed. If you want to attend BGFalcons' classes, the tuition is free, but you have to pay fucking attention. Can you handle that?

Yale economist Ray C. Fair has updated his forecast and says that based on the facts at hand right now, President Obama is likely to win the 2012 election in a landslide.

Fair tells the New York Times that there "is considerable data behind his election prediction, using his econometric models. One produces a forecast for the overall, or macro, economy, while another uses economic inputs to forecast the national popular vote. At the moment, he says, the data augurs well for the president."

Said Fair: "The model certainly suggests that if the economy is good and improving as an election approaches, it's very difficult to defeat an incumbent president

It's still 2010, trying to predict November, 2012 makes no sense.
There are an infinite amount of things or events that can happen to radically change any outlook.

While I too think that Obama is likely to get a second term trying to project an election two years from now is about as smart as trying to predict the weather on that election day.
