because my point is that you're lumping in certain nicer areas of Cbus in with shitty ones (hilltop, east side, etc...). My point is that the bad is really bad, but the nicer areas (where crime does in fact happen also...who knew?) shouldn't be lumped in with them. The bad areas need fixed, but you can't just say "oh well so and so area once had someone get robbed so it must be a bad area". With that logic, someone could be robbed in UA and I could then say it's a warzone - we all know that ain't true.

No, there isn't. There might be a few families in Westerville and Gahanna that are economically the same, but they don't make up a neighborhood.

I am not apologizing for Columbus. I am defending the CPD. Not everything can be solved by more policeman and more guns.

There most certainly are. Namely neighborhoods off of Dempsey and the trailer park. and it Gahanna the neighborhoods are off of stygler near 270.

I'm not bashing CPD, they have no control over many things. It's the people in charge. So Columbus gets a 25% tax increase, yet the police were redistricted and they are cutting cops. what sense does that make?

Some double wides are pretty nice and would be better living conditions than many houses in Columbus' poorer neighborhoods.

that trailer park is nowhere near nice. It's not that we don't see things the same way, it's that you don't know what you are talking about when it comes to some of these areas. That trailer park is a ghetto.

so you prove my point for me? I don't get it. there are for sale listings in that trailer park for very nice double wides for $22,500 and down. A nice double wide isn;t the norm in that trailer park though. I can tell you that from my own two eyes. this is one of those situations where if you haven't been there, or even know where i am talking about, you shouldn't comment.

And you are trying to say that westerville and gahanna don't have neighborhoods that poor, which is false. I still don't understand your apathy towards the crime problem in columbus? It almost seems as if you are excusing it because of people being poor. It;s obvious that there is a problem in this city, yet you want to ignore it. This is not contained to 1 small section of the city, it is spreading into a city wide problem. There are many suburbs that border bad areas, but they do not have these problems filtering into their cities. You claim it has nothing to do with the police, but many of these suburbs have their "lower income" areas bordering the bad areas of Columbus (Hilliard, Westerville, Gahanna) and they don't have these crimes filtering in. If it was such a socioeconomic issue, those areas would be having problems too, you wouldn't see such a dramatic dropoff. I just don't understand how people are so willing to turn a blind eye to a problem and say "well I just don't go there" or "it's small areas of the city". Take pride in your city and demand something be done. write city hall, vote differently, something, anything.

I have no apathy towards crime. I happen to think that the reasons behind the crimes are complex and won't be solved by putting a few cruisers on the street.
