Ok, now for the serious part. I've lived in Columbus for a few years now and haven't had any real problems with crime or murder. Yes, I do live in the University District but that's not exactly far from the East side of 4th St. which is where the problem areas seem to start. People, I'm from YOUNGSTOWN....I suggest you take a trip up north to there before you start chicken littling Columbus.

Police were called to the 100 block of East 9th Avenue around 3 a.m. on reports of an armed robbery.

That’s in the area of Ohio State's campus.

Two male suspects entered a residence armed and masked and demanded property from the 19-year-old Nathan Weisblat and his 18-year-old girlfriend.

"Two black males came to the house and kicked the back door open and said there were police, that they had gone on a domestic disturbance call and immediately I knew they weren't police," Nathan said.

He said the men covered the bottom of their faces with their shirts and pointed guns at Weisblat and his girlfriend. They were told to get on the ground and they complied.

Then, Weisblat said, the men asked Nathan and his girlfriend to take their clothes off.

"I said no, so they pistol-whippped me. I tried to get up, again they pistol-whipped me and cracked me in the skull," he said.

I left in 2007 and looks like things have gotten worse. I used to live at the corner of E 12th and N 4th, the edge of campus area. It was fine, but started to get sketchy right when I left.

The first steps would e more police presence in the problem areas
