We can't punish criminals anymore, you want terrorists to have rights, you want any immigrant that comes across the border to be allowed to stay and have benefits, parents can't discipline their children anymore, you don't want military actions even after terrorists take out over 3,000 of our civilians, I have to shell out more tax dollars because too many people live off the system in this country a liberal system, god I could go on and on and on......
I am a liberal and I actually agree with most of your points. I hate how most liberals want everyone to have rights that don't deserve them. I'm all for parents smacking their kid's ass when they're acting hideous (I was raised that way) and I do think that way too many people live off the system. I'm all for hunting down every terrorist we can find associated with Al Queda and would have no problem lining them up and knocking them down. Give me the gun, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I would almost bet that momma didn't smack these two girls' asses enough when they were younger.
As I'm sure you realize, liberals are far from perfect and so are many conservatives. I admire the stance that most conservatives take on the issues we addressed above. The problem I have is that most conservative leaders we have elected recently can't run an economy. That's not saying that liberals are much better, but let's take a trip down memory lane: Reagan (recession), GHWB (same recession, very little if any improvement), Clinton (best economy we've had since the decade following WWII), GWB (stable for awhile, until the "let's go to war!" theme wore off and we found out how much we actually had to pay for it...then it started down the slippery slope we're on now). Obama (?? do we know yet? We can guess, and it's looking really bad with this current situation in the gulf, but hey, GWB could barely talk and he got re-elected so IDK if I would call it 'over' yet).
While we're on it, I hate Clinton as a person. He seems rather dry, bland, and sleazy. And no I don't condone his actions with Monica at all. However, I'm not electing a best friend or a parent, I'm electing a president, the person that's going to run our country. I also know he benefitted immensley from the 1990's technology boom of the home computer, cell phones and the internet. BUT, the bottom line is I could care less who he fucks, how exciting he is, or if he has the greatest morals. Keep things steady, the American dollar strong, and keep us as one of the dominant economic powers in the world. Most everything outside of personal relationships is fixed with money. That's certainly true with Americans, liberal or conservative. Keep our bills low, our jobs steady and the opportunity to make money intact and people are generally happy.
We need a nice mixture between conservative values and liberal idealism. It's hard, because no one wants to meet in the middle. Every time a conservative gets elected, I already know what I'm going to hear for the next 4-8 years: Inflation, recession, staying the course if you will lol. Every time a liberal gets elected, it's taxes, illogical laws/policies, society going to hell in a handbasket lol. This bickering really needs to stop! Too much shit to deal with in this day and age to be dividing ourselves further. I criticized Bush long after the bulk of the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan and long after Katrina. I wish people would do the same with Obama and this crisis in the gulf. Just like it did NO GOOD for democrats to blame and criticize GWB while those things were going on, it's doing our country NO GOOD for republicans to blame and criticize Obama for all this while it's going on. Let's just work together to get the fucking thing fixed and after we assess all the damage and begin to recover, then we'll let the chips fall where they may.
