Yeah. It's a decent little course. It is where I usually play with friends when I go back home.

My wife and I just joined a country club (like 45 minutes ago). We could have it there but everyone would have to drive to Cincinnati. Convenient for me and that's all that really matters. ;)

Ivy Hills/Royal Oak. One membership gets full access to both clubs.

The membership fee is absurdly affordable, though. Just $100 to initiate and $139/month plus $8/$10 green fees.

I also get a discount to Shaker Run, which I think is about 50%. $25 weekdays/$35 weekends.

Outside of having to actually pay to play each time, that's a really good deal.

Yeah. There is a $229/month membership where you don't pay greens fees. I'd have to average about 10 rounds per month at the clubs to break even. I am gonna monitor my playing over the next month or two and see if it is worth upgrading.

The main issue will be with the winter months. I'd still be paying $229 regardless of how many times I got out. I think when you average it out for the year we'll be spending a lot less paying the small greens fee each time out.

My buddy at Split Rock Golf Course outside of Columbus said we can golf for $31/person. We can pre-buy as many beers as we want @ $2.00 and they will give us "chips" that we can use at the beverage cart. They have an open air shelter house near the clubhouse that we can use for festivities. They could provide grills if we wanted to cook our own food afterwards. I played the front 9 about a month ago. It wasn't a bad track. For the $31, it seemed like a great value for the columbus area. It wasn't overly challenging, I fired a 37 first time seeing the course, although I was told the back 9 is tighter and more difficult. The only downside is he wasn't sure if ownership would allow people on the course with carts that are not playing. They have had problems with that in the past and are reluctant to allow people to do that.

Yeah, obviously, but it is also waaaaay more expensive. I want to keep this as cheap as possible to get a good turnout. :)

I sent an email to Raccoon but didn't hear back. If I get a chance today I will try and call them. I probably won't have time to get away from my desk, though.

If I read their outing page correctly it looks like we can get beers for $1/each unless their definition of a case is a 12pk.
Beverages
Our outing price on most beer is $24.00 per case. We also provide can soda or bottled water at $12.00 per case. (Due to state liquor regulations, bringing your own alcoholic beverages on our premises is prohibited. Any alcohol to be consumed here must be purchased through us) Gatorade is $30.00 per case. Other beverages are available on request.
So at Raccoon it would be $27 for golf (and I am pretty sure they would allow for us to have our own "cart girls") + $10 for food (burgers/brats) + $1 for each beer.

are we going to try to turn this into a charitable thing??

like $50 per player for golf, food and a 6 pack (no point getting sloppy) thats a $7 dollar per player donation to something.

I'm fine either way, but I was curious.

It's an option. For this one, being the first, I was just going to make it the cost of golf and food and see how turnout and all of that goes and then do it again next year for a charity.

Nice idea for the charity thing. Any particular one in mind? Of course they have to be open to boozing and nudity. Still planning on going, I think the woman and her friend will be the beer bitches since Fab4 and her clan play favorites, I need a beer by #3 not #6 ;)

If we do it as a charity event I'd rather just do it $50/golfer but no beer is included in that price. That'll give $13/golfer to the charity. Plus, if beers are $1 to buy from the course, charge $1.50 for each and the $.50 from each beer goes to the charity.

If we did it as a charity event we could also try and get sponsors for each hole or something, and see if we could get some donations for prizes and whatnot.

If this is the case I'll need some help from you guys to wrangle us some sponsors and prize donations.
