Francona on Salazar, "................he's not going to be competing to make our club.", (referring to end of spring training).

The Tribe has acquired Kevin Pawlecki ( .218 Ba 14 Hrs and 75 RBIs lifetime) from the Mets for 2 minor leaguers. Yawn.
Reppin' the 330/216/843
From what I saw he isn’t good at throwing out runners either.

Chris Antoinette says he has an upside... that’s good, I’d hate to think he didn’t.

Anybody out there on the OC think the Tribe should make a play for Moose Moustakas?
He’s still out there, and the Tribe’s outfield is still muddied. That would allow us to put Kip out there for a full season, since that seems to be his post season position anyway.

Heard Zimmer speak at their winter fiesta thingy. Sounds like he thinks he'll be ready for opening day. And Bauer continues to be a clown.

Predicted at 2/16. Adam Jones at similar price for one year makes more sense.
Still standing by nothing until trade deadline and Corey Dickerson.
GOAT
I’d take Adam Jones. Wanted him at deadline. Professional hitter, and can play corner OF at his age.

I don’t hate Adam Jones... I hate that at this point he’s our best option... an option that we may not even avail ourselves of.
Meanwhile, Cody Allen heading to the Angels on a one year deal.
The mass exodus of talent continues with nothing to replace it.

Deals at the trade deadline tend to favor the seller as teams bid for those few players who can improve their already good teams.
while this may be the Tribe’s strategy, it’s a shaky one at best.
Its pretty hard to pick up an entire outfield at the trade deadline. Oh, and maybe some catching too?

Agree fewer buyers, but, the seller is selling an expiring contract. The Tribe likes to take on a 1/2 season salary for the "push"
I don't think the Tribe thinks that Perez is not the playoff starting catcher, I see them riding Perez out
Senior Member
Yeah, I heard a Chris Antonetti talking about Perez like he expects him to duplicate his 2016 playoff performance. I’m not sure what justifies that.

Signed Oliver Perez.

RIP Frank Robinson. Remember watching him as a kid, when he became the Tribe's player/manager insert himself into a game and hit a HR.

Oh good, Lindor to miss 7-9 weeks, which could include opening day. Can't wait for this calf injury to linger all year.

Still no help brought in for the outfield.....
Gone... all star Micheal Brantley, Lonnie Chisenhall, Brandon Guyer and Melkey Cabrera.
So, who do we have.... Leonys Martin, Greg Allen and Tyler Naquin. Also trying out are Matt Joyce, Jordan Luplow and Oscar Mercado. 1B/ OF Jake Bauer’s also a possibility. There is some talk of Kip and Santana being used out there.
Bottom Line.... the outfield is one big tryout, with only Martin and Joyce both coming off injuries/ sickness, having solid MLB experience.... and Joyce is a non roster invitee.
I have to believe that Antonetti won’t let it sit like this.....Waiting for the next underwhelming move.
