Well, Lawrence practiced today so we'll see. Don't think he did much more than throw but add the plane trip and the fact this may be a rainy slop fest and the Jags are just asking for a season ending injury if they trot him out there.

Did Browns defensive players say they wanted Lawerence to play instead of Beathard?

Not directly like that. They were asked about his health and they said, "I hope he plays. We want to play teams at full strength" essentially.

DTR has cleared protocol and Stefanski still not naming the starter, although Flacco still taking all the reps with the 1's so I think we know.
Amari Cooper practiced today but hasn't cleared protocol. Still has time though. Denzel practiced a third straight day.
Interesting tidbit, the Jags starting LT, who will block Garrett, is out. That means either Ezra Cleveland or our old buddy Blake Hance will match up against Myles this week. Lawrence may pull the old Zach Wilson and say "nah, I'm good" if asked about starting.

That was a nice win.
Hopkins…….wow!
Nice job by Flacco.
If I was a Jag fan, I would question the 2 point PAT attempt.

Trying to cover the spread for people who bet earlier in the week.

Defense looked strong. The offense is going to have to stop gifting opponents points or this one would've been a laugher.
Flacco with another strong outing. Wouldn't it be hilariously ironic if he beat the Rats in the playoffs?
First time since Brian Sipe in December of 1980 that a Browns QB threw 3 TD's of more than 30 yards.
Chief finally caught some balls equating to a big day.
And a David Bell sighting? Ballsy call by Stefanski there.
Injuries still mounting. Was a little surprised no Denzel Ward when he practiced all week.

Injuries are definitely looming. Gotta win 2 of the last 4, right? And Bears, Jets, and Bengals all put up decent points today.

Browns should beat the Bears & Jets. Cincy will be a tossup as they may have something to play for. With the Texans being up & down, it's possible, but unlikely, the Browns can run the table and get to 12 wins. Of the 8 wins, 6 have been against teams with above .500 records. Not sure any other team in the league can say that.

Disappointing....Dawand Jones is done for the season. Was playing at a very high level. Might have been one of the steals of the draft, Puka Nacua being #1.

We all love Phil Dawson but Dustin Hopkins has passed him, and is now the all-time Browns leader for FG's in a season with 31. On the same kick, Hopkins broke a second Dawson record with his 8th FG made of 50 yards or more in a season. The kicking & punting game this year has been exceptional and has truly been a weapon. Browns would probably have 3-4 more losses this year if they would've stuck with Cade York.

Flacco will go back to the practice squad, in another procedural move. Local radio guy is super paranoid he will get snatched but extremely unlikely.

It’s a non-story. He isn’t going anywhere.

I thought I read somewhere he also has to have interest in going to whatever other team wants him? It’s a pretty sweet gig right now. First wild card team, four remaining games are all winnable, awesome defense.

Agreed. Don't see it happening. If he stays and can somehow lead them deep into the playoffs, he will cement a lifelong legacy. Especially if one of those wins were against his old team and Lamar. Doesn't take much to build a Browns legacy. Hell, even Kelly Holcomb has one after a brief 2-3 starts to end the 2002-2003 season/playoffs.

Won't be getting Jed Wills back either. He had season ending knee surgery this morning.

Josh Dobbs benched in Minnesota for Nick Mullens. Everyone who clamored for him and Berry "messing up" can all go back and delete their comments now.

Driving home, I was listening to the local sports talk and they brought up a very interesting point.
With the fact that the Browns have won with 4 different QB's, beating 6 of the teams in playoff contention, this team was definitely in "win now" mode.
Taking a swing on the Watson signing, although doesn't look great, was completely justified. Had Watson returned to earlier form, which was the organizations expectation, this would, HANDS DOWN, be the best team in the AFC right now and odds on SB favorite.

Not only could Amari Cooper become the first Cleveland Brown to gain 1,000+ yards receiving two years in a row, he could become only the third #Browns' receiver to gain 1,000 yards more than once joining Ozzie Newsome (1981, 1984) & Mac Speedie (1947, 1949). https://t.co/QSzN4CY7sm pic.twitter.com/o6cI518BmQ

Paul Warfield would have in the late 60’s but 14 games instead of 17

Browns have never really had standout receivers. When I was a kid it was Reggie Rucker & Dave Logan who played with Sipe. Then Bernie had Langhorne & Slaughter (Ozzie but he was a TE). Then there was Josh Gordon, who smoked away his chances at being elite. Beckham was pretty much a bust here although Jarvis was solid. Andrew Berry is not strong at drafting WR's.
One thing I can say for your boys, they know how to draft receivers and edge rushers. Not so good with the secondary, other than Polamalu.
