100% agree actually.

Here’s something….4 highest ranking conference champions get the 1-4 seeds and get byes in the playoffs
As of right now:
SMU
Clemson (3 losses)
Arizona St
BYU
Iowa St
Boise St
UNLV
Two of these teams will be getting byes…Oregon and Texas might not
I know flag planting has happened in the past, but seems like yesterday it was the most prominent by far.
My favorite was I saw a headline Mike Norvell ripped the Florida flag off FSU’s midfield. This was after FSU lost by 20, wrapping up their 2-10 season in which he probably gets fired this week. You’ll lose ten games this season but you WON’T let them plant that flag, Mike!
Planting a flag (in artificial turf no less) is stupid. Acting like those that did it have raped and pillaged the village is equally stupid.
I feel like I’ve woken up in a 1997 John Cooper nightmare.
Ohio State is just soft mentally. All that talent and can't beat the worse non-covid Michigan team since Hoke.
I said it the last two weeks.. if Michigan could just keep it close, the mental part would get too big for OSU, and that's exactly what happened.
OSU has like 500 five star wide receivers, so...let's run it up the middle over and over and over and over again for 1 yard a pop! If Chip Kelly truly has the reins on the offense, send him out to pasture. If Day still has any control over it, well, he should be canned anyway for that debacle, so, uh, fire him more emphatically!
Just a shit showing by the entire offense. D did more than enough to win, but the offense made me think I was watching Purdue or some nonsense.
It was an offensive shit show.
The thing with Cooper’s teams - they always had more talent. They beat the piss out of inferior teams (more than Day’s teams do), and then they’d get pasted when the stakes were high (Michigan and bowl games every year, any game where there was a ton on the line like MSU in 1998).
This seems to be the same thing. Just like with Cooper vs. UM, you could watch 5 minutes of that first quarter and just know this team was gripping and going to play to try and not lose. The coaches reinforced this with the worst offensive play calling imaginable.
For those of you that maybe weren’t old enough during the Cooper years….yeah, that was a Cooper looking game 💯

Agreed. I’m 54, so I remember the Cooper years like they were yesterday. This is a very familiar dynamic.
Been saying for a while Day is Cooper 2.0.

Guessing a matchup with Tennessee or Georgia for a must win
If they get lucky Penn St

Would it really even matter for OSU? Day's had an embarrassment of riches for years and has pissed down his leg on the big stage. Nobody beats a stacked Buckeye team like Ryan Day.

He wins in the playoffs and his chances improve. Beat Georgia then Oregon….he buys time

Agreed. If he makes a very strong showing in the playoffs, he’ll stay. But again, it reminds me of Cooper in the 1997 Rose Bowl. Following yet another defeat to Michigan, he makes a come-from-behind win against Arizona State in a game with zero pressure. The powers that be were appeased and on we went for another three years of Cooperness

I think there’s pressure in these playoffs

There is. But a strong showing will cause the AD to forget the problems lingering all along. Day seems like a decent coach. But anyone on this site would have a great W/L record during the same tenure at OSU. He is not a big game closer. For $10MM per year, that doesn’t work.

It's Monday afternoon and Day and Kelly are apparently still employed .................. hard to believe.
Not an OSU fan at all but trying to see/gauge what they lose this year to draft/graduation. Any help on this? I have the following:
OFFENSE
Skill: Egbuka, Judkins. Henderson, Scott, Howard
Linemen: Jackson, Fryer, McLaughlin, Simmons
DEFENSE
Skill: Styles, Simon, Burke, Ransom, Hancock, Igbinosun
Linemen: Sawyer, JT, Hamilton, Williams
Is that a pretty accurate list?

Fuck yeah! Just total domination. Making the Miami Gabbert look like big bro after he got to the NFL.
And as I type this, ONE MORE SCORE!!!
No clue why teams kick it off to return when you are able to kick it into the end zone
SMU just died a bad death. Clemson is so fortunate. Did Clemson have a penalty all game?
Georgia was lucky as hell…again
NCAA and TV are happy….got the big wigs Clemson and Bama in, with their sub par teams compared to years past.
Why is PSU automatically a lock. Their best win was Illinois back in September. Just beat up on all the shitty teams in the Big10 all season.
