Diaz brought in early and it backfired….huge series swing to the Phillies unless Mets rally in the 9th

Kwan! Wow. Looked like it bounced but the end of his glove was what it bounced off of.
Insane catch to save a run…. and likely the game.
Elite pitching and an elite defensive play
Love it

I’m just watching baseball. Great defense, pitching with some clutch hitting.

I'm liking the concept of the Padres knocking the Dodgers out. Especially since the Dodgers look like the whiny old-school pricks who harp on "unwritten rules" in comparison to them with the manager over-the-top crying about how Machado lightly tossed a ball into the Dodgers dugout area before game 2 ("it was unsettling"). Read today something that was funny. Apparently Ken Rosenthal wrote a column yesterday or the day before that was super-critical about how certain Padres players act (brought up everything against Machado through his entire career; referred to Tatis as a "dancing peacock"). Apparently he also was not allowed in/near the SD dugout last night when doing interviews, leaving him stuck interviewing Dave Roberts AFTER SD's six-run inning against Roberts' team.

Guardians have a sneaky must win today. I don't think they can kill the momentum of Tigers if they go down 1-2, when Tigers know they have Skubal Game 5 so will be loose and Guards will be tight. But if they go up 2-1, they could end it tomorrow with Tigers pressing and Guards feeling good even if they have to go back to Cleveland.

It can be looked at it like this. Cleveland fans want, and should want the whole thing….World Series Chsmpions. They are in a hole…they can win game 4 and tie it up and go back home. Skubal is waiting but so are the fans. Maybe it’s 0-0 thru 7 and Guardians get that big hit and win 2-1 or a walkoff and move on…momentum built and feeling unbeatable. They never look back and take down the Yankees and then the Mets

I have little faith. But win tomorrow, someway, anyway. Then hope Skubal isn’t as sharp.
It’s a hope and pray right now.
Vogt has to be much, much better.

We were stuck with 2 guys who haven’t hit since early August for a combined 7ABs because he got played by Hinch and started Manzardo/Brennan. Brennan didn’t even take a single AB (ph in the 2nd) and Manzardo got 1 (ph in the 3rd).
Hinch knows Manzardo is our best hitter for the last month, and he’s effectively toyed with Vogt to the tune of 3 total ABs in 3 games.
It was so bad yesterday. So so bad. PH in the fucking 2nd inning of a game.

4 innings of leaving multiple runners on base really hurt.
Law of averages tells me the Guardians get one today. Just stinks knowing Skubal is waiting in game 5. But, then again, it is playoff baseball and some crazy things happen.
I remember in 2020 I felt super confident when Bieber was starting game 1 vs the Yankees and he had an absolute lights out year up to that point and he goes out and gives up 7 runs.....maybe we get that from Skubal

Saw a stat where he's been hitting .000 with no one on, but .800 with runners either on or in scoring position.
