Thoughts:

South Carolina fans are now huge Clemson fans. If Clemson loses, South Carolina no real chance to jump up…BUT if Clemson beats SMU without too much trouble, South Carolina has an argument over Bama IMO

What if Georgia gets destroyed?

What if Penn St gets throttled? Does that hurt Indiana?

They just need to rank them 1-12 and let that be the seeding. UNLV and BYU can still earn a ranking over Oregon and Texas and that’s assinine

If BYU wins Colorado is out…leaving 16 teams for the 12 spots with Championship week left.

I’m calling Ole Miss and Miami out

Well commissioner just said the teams not playing this weekend can’t change order….ok

I thought Clemson beating SMU 35-13 would strengthen South Carolina’s resume

So if Boise St loses and SMU loses….I guess Bama will jump ahead of them, but I bet they fall between Miami/Ole Miss/South Carolina, not that it matters.

That is an ill advised statement from the commissioner!  Surely they should take into account strengths or weaknesses exposed by the conference championship games that should effect teams in the non-playing mix that have played the teams playing this week.

Agree…may not be enough but everything should be considered

I thought he was saying, no matter what, teams not playing this week will not jump or fall behind/in front of other teams not playing this week.

There can and will be movement, but Texas/Georgia outcome won’t have Indiana move ahead of Tennessee. But it could have the loser/winner move up or down a good bit.

Rece asked him a 2nd time because he was surprised of his answer.

Yeah, I am not sure I disagree with it.

If you have out of 12 teams:

  • Notre Dame
  • Ohio State
  • Tennessee
  • Indiana
  • Alabama

...not playing, then I don't think -- despite maybe some SOS/SOR stuff and common opponents stuff altering slightly -- that the order of those 5 teams should shift at all. The teams PLAYING? Yes, they can shift up and less likely down depending on outcome and performance. But the order of those 5 teams who are not playing and cannot add a direct data point to the resume should remain.

I thought they would have Miami lower. Separated Bama and Ole Miss/South Carolina. I have no issue but seems calculated a bit.

Go SMU over Clemson…neither are cont

So, we have Miami pissed off because Alabama passed them with one more loss (ignoring how Alabama's wins are noticeably better than theirs considering they didn't play either of the two teams above them in the ACC and were 2-2 against the four that tied for fourth at 5-3) and we have Old Miss pissed off because they also didn't pass Miami meaning there's too much damn ACC Bias (ignoring how no one outside of them really gives a fuck about their good-but-not-great season that's balanced wins over Georgia and South Carolina with losses to Kentucky and Florida).

Anyone else big mad about how things are shaking out?

I'm still big mad about the scUM loss.

Hoping the current bracket plays out.

I'll be in Nashville during the first round and Vols fans are weird and delusional (sound familiar? hehe). I'm hoping to beat them, get waxed by Oregon, fire Day and Chip. Give the keys to Urban. Done.
