Everyone knows it's the case, right? Does it need to be told to them? They're big boys right?

He goes to a better coach in a better system. Everyone wins here. Especially if the Raptors can somehow keep Kawhi.

kizer you are literally the only person that feels that way. No matter how you want to do your little spin, telling a player that he’s not on the trade block and that they’re committed to him long term and then turn around and trade him a week later is messed up.

And I also disagree that this helps all parties involved. The only team this truly helps is LA as they didn’t have to give up anyone for him and will be getting him as a FA next season. I hate that shit is falling into place for LA.

Toronto got better overnight. Spurs got a good talent for a player who was assuredly leaving and they unloaded Danny Green too. If Toronto can keep him like OKC kept Paul, they did well. Both teams benefit from this. I thought for sure PG13 would be in LA and he took the money and stayed in OKC. You never know is my point.

Yeah, fuck communication. It serves no point.

I don't know what you want me to tell you, I92? It happens everyday in every industry in every facet of life. Everyone involved will live. Demarr is a good #2 or a great #3. I'm making the same move every time every chance.

Toronto sent a good player away and received a primadona player who doesn’t even want to play there lol they didn’t get better at all. Especially not long term. They had derozan for 3 more seasons. They have kawhi for one.

Maybe. But like I said.. I never thought PG would stay in OKC and he did. You never know. Maybe Kawhi is a Drake fan? lol

How about they at least be honest with him?

Cavs have been telling Kevin Love "you're not on the trade block....you're staying here." Raise of hands of how many people think Love will be playing for the Cavs this year?

Crazy thing is I think spurs could have done better if LBJ stayed in Cleveland. You telling me Love and 8th pick doesn't get this done?

Then they suck too. Zero reason to not be a jackass in these situations. Everyone doing it doesn’t make it ok

I think Toronto's mindset was that they basically peak in the second round of the playoffs every year and even with Lebron out of the picture they still aren't competing with Philadelphia and Boston for the foreseeable future. So you exchange a what, top 12 player for a top 5 and if Leonard leaves after next season then Toronto is in a position where they probably soon needed to be anyways - rebuilding. DeRozan is a great player and I think it's shitty they lied to his face all along but there are much worse scenarios then being traded to the San Antonio Spurs. I think he and the Raptors both needed a change from each other.

I knew someone would jump on that. (Insert a couple posts of us exchanging subjective lists of who'd we value above/below him and agree to disagree.)

If you want to go top 15-18 I'd be fine with that, too.

There does not exist a world in which I'm willing to say DeRozan is a top 15 NBA player.

I think he could be argued with 2-3 that you’d put In your top 20

I’d  struggle putting Demarr in the top 30 tbh

I’m guessing that if you put together your top 20 that he would be debatable for a couple of your picks near the 20 mark
