Did Thome ever get the RBI streak? He had a crazy HR streak in 2001, and Tribe had good players that year, so wondering if he did.

That's the guy.  Kelly had six consecutive multi-RBI games in both '21 and '24.  Led the league in '24.

Thome finished tied for second for the longest consecutive HR streak at 7 games.  Three guys (Griffey, Mattingly, and Dale Long) have 8 games.

However, for those guys, they all had at least one game in there where the HR was their only RBI of the game.

Question #122

This HOFer at age 40 (who had 500+ HR at the time) had a 2 HR game off of a 41 year old HOFer who had over 300 wins at the time......2 months later that same HOF hitter hit 3 HR (his final multi HR game) in a game and the three different pitchers in that game that he hit HR off of totaled 7 top 5 Cy young finishes and 2 Cy Young awards (all 3 pitchers had top 4 Cy finishes in their career.

Name that HOF batter and name the HOF pitcher of the 2 HR game

I’m going to guess Frank Robinson for the hitter.

I like the guess but who around 72 would’ve been the 300 win pitcher? Frank is incorrect

My next guess for the batter is Reggie Jackson.

pitcher- Catfish Hunter maybe

edit: no, I think Catfish is not right

another stab - Steve Carlton

How about Phil Niekro?

Reggie is right...now close in time frame better on pitcher. Carlton and Niekro in that time

Seaver?

Yes...Reggie at age 40 and 540 HR hit 2 HR off of Seaver in 1986 as Seaver had around 308 career wins .....2 months late Reggie went deep 3 times and 7 RBI off of David Cone, Dennis Leonard and Quisenberry
