Very nice job, Laley23!  You’re correct on all three names.

Woooo! Finally a question that I have a memory of!

What Indians player had the most SB in any one season of the 1980’s?

I’m going to take a stab at it with Miguel Dilone. (Dee-low-nay for the young guys)

Two Indians questions for today:

- (for the old timers) “I’d knock down my own grandmother if she dug in on me” is a quote from what Hall of Fame pitcher who won 164 games for the Indians between 1949 and 1963?

- A member of the Indians from 1974 through 1981, what light-hitting second baseman went on to become the TV play-by-play voice of the San Francisco Giants?

Captain Kuip, Duane Kuiper on the second. Hit one HR his whole career. Ironically, the night he hit it, I believe their big bopper, Andre Thornton, hit an inside the park home run. Not an easy feat for a man his size.

BR1986FB: correct!

I believe he has the worst home run per at bat total of all time.

Back when I was a kid, before free agency made sports a revolving door, I had every one of their names, numbers, stats, etc pretty much memorized. Even mimicked Kuiper, Manning & Charlie Spikes batting stances. Hell, my mom even made me a tomato red Tribe uniform by soaking a white T-Shirt in boiling beets, LOL. With the way Kuiper stood, there's no wonder he only hit one dinger. Can't see how he'd generate any power.

It is Early Wynn.

Looks like Ironman92 edged out Gardens35 by 3 minutes.

I was at a game in 1963 in which Wynn was going for his 300th win. He didn’t get it that day.  (I think I may have mentioned this before)

Two part Kuiper question:

What team was the Tribe playing when he hit the homer, and what Indians FAVE was on deck and greeted Kuiper at the plate?

You can watch it on youtube.

I know that he hit it off Steve Stone but don’t remember what team.

Was the FAVE Manning?

Not Manning.

I’m thinking Stone was with the White Sox.

The FAVE has to be either Buddy Bell or Andre Thornton, although I can’t imagine why either of them would be batting after Kuiper.  I’m going with Bell because he would be more apt to bat after Kuiper than Thornton.
