They’re so bad.
Still bad. 0 points by the offense yet… vs a trash team
At least we got a win, but it was ugly. Stefanski still doesn't want to run the ball when we are running all over them, and Watson looks terrible. Hopefully Watson can turn his career and life around. Giving up three first round picks for him is a huge gamble. Those trades never seem to work out for the team giving up all of those picks.
We'll take it.
Defense finally showed up STRONG and the special teams (DPJ/Fields) came up big. Just what the doctor ordered when you have a QB coming off a 700+ day layoff.
Cleveland sports talk fans might be close to the worst. Was listening to the post game show when I went on my evening walk and I heard 3 consecutive callers with either "why is Watson getting a pass" and "Baker would've done better." The hosts of the show were pretty clear that Watson didn't play well and it will take time but there were a few glimpses of what this offense can be when he gets it together. I find it hard to believe that one of the most accurate passers in NFL history is suddenly going to forget how to hit receivers.
With that being said, he's going to have to be monumentally better if they want to have a chance in Cincy.
Browns/Rats game has been moved to 4:30pm on Saturday 12/17.
They have also lost Sione Takitaki for the year with a torn ACL.
Tough one - he's at least the third linebacker lost for the season.

Third MLB lost for the season. Wonder if it has anything to do with their weak ass IDL not protecting the LB's?
DPJ named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Not sure we've seen that since the Cribbs era.

Travis Benjamin had a few solid games. Not sure he ever got ST POW though.
Look at that, I am not crazy!

Right. He had the Browns last punt return TD prior to DPJ.
Browns O-Line is good but vastly overrated. No excuse not to be able to run on that defense.
Watson looked better but way too many missed opportunities today.

Stefanski had his play card up in front of his face and his gaming headset on that he could talk into, do no problem there.
Stefanski is getting eaten alive by the media for a couple of decisions, early in the game yesterday:
1) Sitting his $230 million QB on 4th & 1 while bringing in a backup QB, with a cold arm, to throw a long pass instead of just getting the first. Watson's rusty but I'd trust his touch more on that deep pass than Brissett. Adding another layer to it, they passed on a potential 3 points after stuffing the Bengals.
2) Sending the hounds on the punt block when you had the Bengals at 4th & 15, their offense was sputtering and DPJ fair caught the ball around the 40.
I get analytics but Stefanski's "riverboat gambler" approach is taking the wind out of the teams' sails after both good offensive and defensive efforts. Seems like he's doing this WAY too much. If I'm Haslam I'm asking "Why in the Hell did I pay $230 million for a QB if you're going to sit him in crucial spots?"
Stefanski's done this several times this year and it just kills the momentum. Sad to say but the defense seems fragile and tends to give up after stuff like this happens.

I'm not sure how long he gets a free pass. He has regressed each season. He has the best backfield combination in the league and no idea how to use them. He hasn't made any changes on the defensive staff. He doesn't even understand when to kick the extra point or go for two (that didn't come up yesterday, but he has messed it up several times this season). The team looks unprepared most weeks, and the other team always makes better halftime adjustments. They have also quit in a games.
He plays the game (due to his love of analytics) like a HS nerd coaching fantasy.

His "play card in front of his face" comment you mentioned probably played into him missing that Watson got that 1st down on the run right before the botched 4th down pass by Brissett. He should've challenged that because it was an obvious 1st down/poor spot.
This is awesome and I just gained a new respect for the Hoodie...
Just like the Browns playoff chances, JOK is done for the year.
