I have more hope for this franchise going forward than I have the past 4 seasons.

Were screwed.

I only have this hope if Hue is canned after the Pittsburgh game. They need to get rid of him ASAP. My main reasoning, besides he sucks, is that this team will likely be drafting a QB #1 overall in this coming draft. If they keep Hue one more year, he sucks just as bad AGAIN, and gets fired, then they bring in a new guy who might not be in love with their QB choice at #1.

Chicago could see the same issue with Trubisky. Fox will likely get canned and what if the new hire isn't enamored with Mitch? Better off to just start fresh, with Dorsey's HC choice.

How can anyone have any optimism in this franchise at this point? I mean seriously. We’re like 1-28. We have no QB. We have no coach. Our GM is brand new. Our owner ruins everything he touches.

I’m not really a “sky is falling” kind of fan, but at this point what is there to be excited about?

Went to the game yesterday. My first game in Cleveland.

Am a Packers fan. I can't say much about knowing anything about the Browns this year, but Kizer played a strong game. Browns defense stymied the Packers, which I expected -- Browns do have a good run defense and Hundley struggles.

I almost left with 5:30 left in the game. McCarthy punts it on 4th and I thought the game was over. A couple of pass plays/incompletions gave the Packers decent time to make something happen. For once, a return for the Packers was good. I've never been one to call for coaches' jobs (being a coach myself), but it's getting close to the end of the road for some of the Packers' coaches.

Boo hoo. ^^^^^

It's very frustrating to know that so many Packer fans were there yesterday.  If you were listening on the radio, you might have thought it was in Green Bay.

Because Cleveland.

McCarthy seems to be a pretty blah coach who looks good because of how great Aaron Rodgers is. But when he doesn't have him winning games with crazy-ass hail marys, he's pretty hopeless.

Difference between hope and optimism.  5 draft picks in the first two rounds, 1st overall pick, another potential top 10 pick, the GM has a good track record and that first pick is going to be a QB.  That pick for a QB will at least give us more hope than the fucking QBs we have had in the last 15 years.  Seriously, when was the last time we had hope for the QB we had starting at week 1?  I am not talking about "well, hopefully he shines" type of hope we had with Kizer.  You're talking about the bears and we are only one step behind the bears currently, except I think this QB class is better than this past draft class.  Mitch isn't lighting up the board, so let's pump the break there.

Mitch isn’t lighting up the scoreboard but you can see the potential he has. Not saying he’s going to be John elway but you can watch bears games and see he can be really good. We don’t have that on our team is what I’m saying.

As far as your "we are only one step behind the bears currently", I feel outside of QB because that is the glaring missing piece, the Browns roster is on par, or better than, NYJ's, Indianapolis, Chicago, Green Bay and San Francisco. Two of those teams (GB & Indy) have franchise QB's and two others (Chicago & SF....too early to tell) may have their franchise guys. The Jets are playing above expectations and McCown has actually looked decent. Strip the (better) QB play from those teams and they are the Cleveland Browns. You know the line....."until  they get a QB....."

I don't know that I'd say Indy has a franchise QB until Luck actually steps on the field again and shows he can play at a high level, since he's been out forever and still seems to have shoulder issues that just won't go away.

Very odd. I posted something very similar in my post about being "skeptical that Luck ever bounces back" but the content apparently didn't take when I hit post/send. I agree completely. Colts may have wasted his career with their shitty drafting.

He’s just missed this season, right?

And I am saying there is reason for hope since we are going to be drafting a potential franchise QB.  The browns will be in the same exact position the bears are in now (the potential future QB), except we are adding more pieces with all of these draft picks.  I get that apathy has set in with the Browns,  but how can you not see there is any hope?  I feel a lot better about the potential of this team than I did the last 4 seasons when there was no end in sight or we were in limbo thinking we weren't that far away from the playoffs.

Because it’s the browns and we’ll probably trade out of the first pick for more late first rounders and draft more D linemen lol

but no I agree with what you’re saying. We’ll get our QB. Just gotta hope we pick the right one. I don’t have much optimism that we’ll make the right call based on historical data, however. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Josh Gordon had 2, yest two, targets in the 2nd half + OT. That is ridiculous. Hue should be fired for that alone.

Would be nice if Texas plays so bad that second pick turns out to be Fitzpatrick CB Bama

This tweet was in response to Damarious Randall's twitter comment on how well he covered Gordon on Sunday. Randall's response was "He had one catch, any more questions?"

Gordon responded with....

  1. Flash Gordon‏Verified account @JOSH_GORDONXII 23h23 hours ago

Great Win for them but let’s be serious.. Considering several of our disadvantages as a team, this kid couldn’t hold my jock strap on my worst day lol..@RandallTime

I have no issue with Gordon's response but what jumps out at me is that some of these players are starting to take on the persona of the coach, blaming the talent on the roster (Considering several of our disadvantages as a team) which seems to be Hue's "go to" excuse.

A better coach has 4 wins out of this team with the talent given. These guys need to quit blaming the roster when the going gets tough.

Sitting here thinking about how the Browns currently have two picks in the 1st. Previously when this happens we tend to fuck the picks up:

Weeden & Trich

Manziel & Gilbert

Shelton & Erving (Shelton isn't a bust but I had higher hopes for him for sure. I think his playing time will go down with our recent DT play).

Garrett, Njoku & Peppers (Granted Garret and Njoku look solid, Peppers is straight trash. Hopefully we find a way to make him useful, Nacua played a better game yesterday than Peppers has all season).

So, this got me thinking, how can the Browns fuck this up? I can see us signing a QB from Alex Smith, Kirk Cousin, Tyrod Taylor. Trading out of the #1 overall pick, and thank Josh Allen with the pick we received in the trade back. That's my current prediction. How do you think we'll fuck it up?

You forgot Thomas & Quinn. JT was the best of the lot when it came to dual 1st rounders.

I wouldn't be surprised if the do sign Alex Smith to a hefty 2 year deal but I also think they'll use that #1 overall on a QB. I think Smith is 36 years old so he doesn't have much left. If they were to sign Cousins I could definitely see a trade down. Not with the other two though.
