Just met CC. Wouldn’t tell me if he’s going to choose Tribe or Yankees for HOF. Said “gotta get elected first!”.

Also, Aaron Judge murders baseballs. Not sure anyone knows where the CF cameras are at Yankee Stadium, but he just blasted one that hit the roof covering them. Mercy.

You tell C.C. He’s not one of my trivia answers

It’ll be Yankees.  And he should run for office with an answer like that.

Not so sure about that, especially after seeing him when he was in Cleveland a couple weeks ago...after all, they were the team that drafted him, and the team he won his Cy Young with. However, this is jmo, and if it is the Yankees, I wouldn't be the least surprised.

CC screams Indian to me more than Yankee. Manny screams Red Sox more than Indian, etc. Not sure why, maybe it’s because he was our Ace for all 7 seasons basically. Won a CYA with the Tribe and amassed over 100 wins.

Yankees have the longevity and the WS title, as well as a few more wins. Not his best season, but probably the next best few. Because it’s NY, MLB probably pushes for it, but it’s pretty 50/50 for me as of now. His run with NY is in its eleventh year, but because of injuries and the nature of NY moving on in talent, it seems like he was only there for 4.

If it’s up to him, I bet he picks Cleveland, but see MLB going with Yankees.

Either way, it would be a shame if he didn’t make it.

He had 3 great seasons with the Tribe and 5 with Yankees.

Only once was he getting CY votes for Indians (he won) and 3x he was top 4 for Yankees (3rd,4th,4th). His ERA+ was only above 120 3x for Tribe but 5x for Yankees....the additional Yankees years at his old age has brought his metrics down to right with Indians years. Also won a championship with NY

He’s about 60/40 Yankees in my mind

Also had his best season ever with 60% of it on Tribe (then traded). I wonder what his CYA votes would’ve looked like in today’s game where Wins don’t actually matter. I agree his best seasons were with Yankees, but I think the length of time he was better for the Tribe makes it closer than 60-40.

He got those CY votes going 11-2 for Brewers. Was 6-8 for Tribe

ERA+ 111 for Tribe that year and 255 for Brewers

I just hope he makes it. He’s not a slam dunk

No question he was better for Brewers, but he was damn good with Tribe also. Had a terrible May because after the season before and playoffs he basically skipped ST if I recall. Then was his dominant self again. I remember Hamilton distinctly saying something like he has 6 games of 1/0 runs through 6IP where he didn’t get a win this year. He was amazing for the brewers though.

ERA was like a 3.6 I think for Tribe...he was better than 6-8, more like 8-6....but all his acclaim and CY/MVP votes were from his Brewers prowess

I hope he chooses Indians ...would be funny

Yet he WON the CY with the Indians, and had arguably a better cast around him in NY (thus the 'ship)...again, IMO, when he enters the HOF, he'll go in as an Indian.

Yeah, I specifically said he won. Sorry I upset you.

While on the topic of HOF, where do we stand with Kluber? I would think decidedly not a HOFer if you voted right now, but has anyone won the CYA twice and not made it?

This is Kluber’s 9th season and he is 98-58. I think he needs to have several more productive years to be considered for the HOF.

Did Saberhagen win 2?

Kluber needs a decent bit more for me

I was doing some reading after looking at these posts about him and his possible induction and the general vibe I got from a couple sites is that he'll more than likely make it, but it won't be first ballot or anything remotely close to that. More like one of those guys who gets more and more support over time until getting in somehow.
