There’s about 11 Chicago pizza restaurants with better pizza than giordanos. Giordanos sandwiches are fucking bomb though.

Deep dish is mehhhh. Never order it unless a visitor from out of town wants to try it.

Giordanos is last of the big Chicago pizzerias.

Only tried deep dish pizza once in Chicago. It was okay. If they opened a Portillo's then my reaction would equal CC's reaction to pizza.

Portillos is amazing. And deep dish is bad.

I don't mind deep dish pizza whatsoever. I am not a fan of the thin crusts. If I wanted thin crust I'd eat Totino's for all that.
At any rate, I've never tried Giordano so I'm not missing anything lol

It was meant as an unkind comparison lol!

I know, lol. It was a terrible comparison. Thin crust NY style pizza is the GOAT. It’s not $1.50 pizza from 7/11 (totinos)

I've had pizza from California to NY, from Michigan to Florida. I'm very picky when it comes to what I like in pizza. I guess I like a good balance between toppings, crust and flavor. Crust thick enough to hold its own but thin enough where it doesn't feel like just a glob of bread.

btw, any pizza in California is the worst!

Since you are a Chicagoan, what is the city's best deep dish, in your opinion?

I used to hate thin crust.  But I also love eating as much pizza as I can, and I prefer topping/cheese/sauce over bread, so thin crust all day.  But give me an XL.

Not S&L, but I personally like Lou’s best, but I only eat deep dish if it’s what someone ordered at a gathering of some sort. I’d never get it myself.
