As Sig preferred weapon owner the Ruger is a very nice weapon. What's more important is how do you like it, how does it feel to you are you comfortable with it, do you understand your weapon, do you know all the ins and outs about your weapon, can you break it down. If you like it and you're comfortable shooting it then that's the perfect weapon for you. Go to the range a few times become proficient with it. Take the wife to the range send a few rounds down the range with her pick up a couple of liberals on your way that's always fun and most important make sure you take your children and teach them even though they may not want to shoot it take them to the range so they can understand and see I think it's a great idea enjoy

I was initially going to purchase a SR9 (or SR9C, I can't remember exactly) as my first handgun, but there was a long wait for some reason (this was a few years ago) and I got impatient and jumped over to the Springfield XDS line. I did like the Ruger, but I'm not upset I didn't end up with one in the end.

What are the differences?

I have seen this price too. Do you like it?  It doesn't seem the 9s are on sale as much. Are they good for carrying? I like that you get a 13 and 16 round magazine in the 3 inch in the 9

I do like it. It's very accurate at 10 yards. It is not a great concealed carry gun.  It is very chunky.

Form-factor is the big one. The XDS line are all subcompact. But obviously there are other differences due to different manufacturers. I really like the Springfield grip, as well as the lack of a traditional safety. The only thing I would improve on is the trigger, which I plan to have fixed with a lighter pull.

Got all of my NRA membership info yesterday, as well as my free gift (pocket knife). It's kinda sad I'm afraid to put the decal on my vehicle for fear of some asshole keying it or something.

Yep got it to ...still a few months away from renewing but will do it early, get it out of the way. Not interested in the knife but makes a good gift to a Liberal. There is magazine also … not sure which one I want.

I have a decent NRA pocket knife, but for the most part their gifts are terrible and I  wish they would use the money for something better.

The knife they sent was small, but decently sharp. It'll get plenty of use, but it didn't add much value to my membership.

It's a Sig 938 micro.  It is small but it's 9mm. Would be a great carry weapon.
