Going to be stopping in Cincinnati for the day/night on Friday and having never really been to Cincinnati much anyone have any great restaurants recommendations?

Open to any types of food my wife is a big fan of Mexican and wants to avoid chains if possible.

What part of town will you be in? Nothing Mexican that sticks out other than Nada or Bakersfield, but I think they get a little more hype than they deserve. Still pretty good, though.

The Dirty Sanchez at Hangover Easy is good.

Camp Washington is good for any meal.

Avoid the chili, it's nothing but watered down spaghetti sauce

It's sauce, not proper chili. But it's still awesome.

I am trying to think of something that the locals rave over more that is just not good, maybe Upper Peninsula meat pasties, no Cincy chili is worse

Go to Eli's or the Eagle. They're not what you're looking for, but they are delicious.

We will most likely be staying downtown but nothing has been decided yet. But we will have a car and don't really have any plans for the day/night so we could travel. My wife will most likely be picking since I don't ever care where we eat.

I forgot about The Eagle always heard amazing things about it. Thanks for the suggestions so far! Also definitely avoiding the chili.... not a fan of Skyline.

Eli's (fab mentioned) is great and a 5ish minute drive from downtown if you like BBQ. Get the rib tips.

Sotto is downtown and awesome if you like Italian. Get the pork tenderloin or short rib cappellacci.

Forgot about Che. Great spot and close to downtown. Basically just go to OTR and walk around until you find something you like.

Bringing this back up because my son was in Cincinnati this weekend and brought back some Camp Washington chili.  OMG....so good.  I forgot what I had missed.

Also, he brought back some wings from Martino's on Short Vine..........delicious.

Oh, also he said that Marino's is known as a Steeler's joint.  Booo!

Maybe a hangout for Ironman92.

When I’ve gone to visit the awesome spots I’ve found:

The Eagle, Bakersfield, Sotto.

Skyline can burn in hell, FTR.

Going to Nicola's for dinner on Wednesday. I've never been but I've heard it's great.

If heading that way I’d stop at Mt Orab and eat at Butterbees……also one of those just off 275 on Amelia Exit
