I'm not trying to say I don't want to view gay people on TV (I actually laughed once or twice when watching Will & Grace and have watched a few shows on Bravo). But, I don't think most of America embraces Men's figureskating. It is to over the top. I am not just talking about Johnny Weir, the whole darn sport. The other night I heard Scott Hamilton "meow-ing" in the play by play.

Face it, the only people who enjoy watching it are gay men and white heterosexual women. Why does figure skating want to limit their audience? Can you picture a bunch of guys sitting at BW's pounding some wings and cheering on this crap?

I just hate them damn queers, so much. Then the rest of them minorities ain't far behind. I just think we need to get this country back to a conservative religious white man's land like God intended.

And that sure as hell don't include no queer, figure-skatin', fancy boys.

you're damn right. The only thing that should fly in this country is somethin' that me and the boys can watch while we're sittin' around BW's eatin' some wings, drink a few beers....

And we sure as hell don't wanna see no butt sex havin', pretty-boy. Hell, that'd make me spit up my wings watchin' him skate around. I'd get ta thinkin' about all the sinnin' he done in bed with some other faggot and that'd ruin my appetite....

Mrs. FFT and I watch it during the Olympics. Johnny Weir is over the top flaming, but Evan Lysacek seems pretty straight. I mean, I'm not interested enough to watch it the rest of the year, but every few years, I'll watch whatever on the Olympics and cheer on the USA.

some of the jumps and stuff take some skill and are athletic, but ther est of the dancing/pantamiming around the ice during the routine makes it tough for me to watch. I sure as hell didn't watch any Ice Dancing last night.

and yes, Johnny Weir is a homo.

Johnny Weir is probably the most popular figure skater in the world right now of all the current skaters. He has a huge fan club. Despite all the feathers and the other crap, he is a very good skater.

No medal. 6th place finish. He skates better than all of us, but no medal means he is good, not great.

The judges did him no favors. I'm not saying that he should have won a medal, but he definitely should have ended up higher than sixth. And he has medaled in world events in the past.

I think he has to be gay. I heard last night on the olympics he is Tanith Belbin's roomate at the olympics, and why would she be rooming with a straight guy? Totally strikes me as the gay friend scenario.

Weir has consistently declined to answer questions about his sexuality.[19][20] He stated: "There are some things I keep sacred. My middle name. Who I sleep with. And what kind of hand moisturizer I use."[20]
He has two pet chihuahuas named Bon-Bon and Vanya and is a collector of Russian Cheburashka memorabilia.[21][22] He has an interest in fashion design and, in addition to designing some of his own skating costumes, has designed ice dancing costumes for Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov[23] and show costumes for Oksana Baiul.[24]

I am a former figure skater and I keep pretty good track of what's going on. For the record, yes, Johnny Weir is gay. Of all the current male skaters, he is the only one I know of who definitely is gay.

Johnny Weir marches to the beat of his own drummer. He is probably a lot happier because he does.
