Yes it did, especially with game @MSU looming this week.charliehustle14 wrote:No, I'm 20. And don't give me that 'you take internet too serious shit'...especially coming from you. With the way you always run to Diebler's side every time someone says one thing about him, I think you're the one who takes the whole concept of the internet way too serious.centralbucksfan wrote:Serious problems? Go fuck off? How old are you, 12? Are you seriously threatening me over a computer? LOL Give me a break.charliehustle14 wrote:You really wouldn't call a TO? Purdue has a great defense but the chances of getting the 3 you need are greater when you're coming out of a timeout with a set play rather than during the end of game free for all. Turner was trailing that final offensive possession. You'd think a TO would be wise to at least give him a chance to have his hand in the end of the game.centralbucksfan wrote:I have NO Problem with NOT calling a timeout. Purdue is the BEST defensive team in the BIG TEN, period. If you let them get set, you may not even get the ball in bounds, let alone get a shot off.charliehustle14 wrote: OSU did all they could to lose this game and still managed to almost win it.
-How does Thad not call a TO at the end of the game?
-Diebler was so freakin tentative to shoot that last second shot. He wasn't ever ready to shoot it because he didn't want to.
-OSU missing some key wide open shots and FT's killed them tonight, as well as the pathetic performance by everyone not named Turner in the 1st half.
-David Lighty kills me. I know what he can do offensively, but he lacks any consistency.
-Give me Purdue again in the Big Ten tourney.
Secondly, get OFF DIEBLER!! Besides Turner, he was the only other player to show up.
If your going to criticize players, look NO further then Ligthy, Lauderdale(Johnson drilled him) AND BUFORD who was just BAD.
Game doesn't surprise me to be honest. I didn't expect a first half that poor. But I didn't have a good feeling going into this. Purdue is MUCH BETTER then people think they are. We were lucky to win at their place to be honest.
OSU strength is shooting...well, they didn't shoot too well tonite obviously. It was that simple. Credit the Purdue defense.
Those were my thoughts, I wasn't bashing anyone so go fuck off man. Get off my nuts about everything I post, or you and I will have some serious problems. You post a lot of garbage and I never seek your stupid ass out for everything I disagree with you about.
Lighty, Buford, and Lauderdale killed OSU tonight, but I was only stating the fact that Diebler was tentative on that last shot...either he didn't want the ball in his hands or he wasn't sure if he should call a TO.
And NO, I don't have a probem not calling a timeout. Its a coaches philosopophy. Some do, some don't. Bob Knight rarely called timeouts with clocks running down. For the very reason i stated, letting the defense get set. He said he had his plays already in. Often times in a scramble, something opens up. Just as it did for Diebler. He had a good look, probably better then what OSU would have had on a side out of bounds. It didn't go in.
If you had any clue, you would realize that wasn't why the game was where it was. YOu can't spot a team like Purdue a lead like that at half. Teams RARELY come back from deficits like that vs quality teams. Thats why you see it on ESPN highlights...doesn't happen often.
OSU played like a pack of retarded cavemen in the first half and got it together in the 2nd half. The way OSU played in the 1st half, they had no business being in the game, I agree. But that still doesn't change the fact that OSU actually did come back, seized the momentum in front of the home crowd, and then let Purdue off the hook with some very impatient, ill-advised shots. It doesn't change the fact that I wish OSU would have ran a play following a TO with 8 seconds left to set up a catch and shoot situation for someone, Diebler or not. It doesn't change the fact about how pissed I am about the way Lauderdale and Lighty both crapped out tonight. It doesn't change the fact that tonight's game has really set OSU back as far as winning the Big Ten goes.
And please do NOT forget about Buford as well. He as bad for the second straight game. I have no idea why OSU didn't come out of the gate well. They were just not ready to play..which is puzzeling considering as big a game as it was.
And yes, OSU did have a chance. But when you exert that much energy to get back into a game...it takes a lot out of you, thus its tough to finish it off at the end.
And again, the key turning point in the game IMO, was when OSU was within 2 at 48-46 and had at least 3 possessions to tie, take the lead...and didn't.
And believe me you, I don't take this internet stuff serious. I enjoy the bantering, discussion, even argueing...except when it goes over the line in terms of childish name calling as well as profanity.
