OSU did all they could to lose this game and still managed to almost win it.
-How does Thad not call a TO at the end of the game?
-Diebler was so freakin tentative to shoot that last second shot. He wasn't ever ready to shoot it because he didn't want to.
-OSU missing some key wide open shots and FT's killed them tonight, as well as the pathetic performance by everyone not named Turner in the 1st half.
-David Lighty kills me. I know what he can do offensively, but he lacks any consistency.
-Give me Purdue again in the Big Ten tourney.
I have NO Problem with NOT calling a timeout. Purdue is the BEST defensive team in the BIG TEN, period. If you let them get set, you may not even get the ball in bounds, let alone get a shot off.
Secondly, get OFF DIEBLER!! Besides Turner, he was the only other player to show up. He played well on defense as well tonite!!
If your going to criticize players, look NO further then Ligthy, Lauderdale(Johnson drilled him) AND BUFORD who was just BAD.
If your going to put this game on Diebler, you are either flat our ignorant about the game of basketball, or just a flat out hater.(and I know we have a few of them here).
The KEY in this game, once OSU got back in it, was about the 8 min mark when OSU had 3 possession to either tie or take the lead. It was 48-46 and they couldn't get over the hump. Purdue then went on a run to push it back to 8pts with under 5 min to go. During this time, Turner actually took 2/3 bad/long range shots. OSU had their opportunity to take the lead, get the crowd rocking and maybe go on a good run. They couldn't get over the hump.
Game doesn't surprise me to be honest. I didn't expect a first half that poor. But I didn't have a good feeling going into this. Purdue is MUCH BETTER then people think they are. We were lucky to win at their place to be honest.
OSU strength is shooting...well, they didn't shoot too well tonite obviously. It was that simple. Credit the Purdue defense.
