Without checking, I'd be skeptical.

1. He's being more actual aggressive on this thread instead of giving long-winded passive-aggressive comments.

2. No comments on either the Reds or Steelers.

3. Seems to be more left-wing. At least to the point where he isn't crying about how teh gayz are all icky and shit every time someone mentions them.

agree with Monty on the meme...not only inaccurate, ...grossly inaccurate.

Box 2 and 3...financed my fiirst home at age 30 at 12 1/8 percent. It was a starter home fixer upper.
box 4, 5, 6......started my own business with a loan of 9 3/4%....made 10K, 12K and 19K the first 3 years. No sense even looking for a job because the economy was shit due to stagflation.....Do you young people even have a clue what inflation is?...NOT!

box 8....thru most of my years, the the budget ran a surplus or just slightly in the red. George Bush increased it slightly to stimulate a slowing economy and to finance the war. The deficit didn't really get out of control until Bam took over....and he road to power on the strength of the under 30 vote. (nice going guys!)

Quit crying and deal with life. Every generation has both benifitted from the previous genmeration, and has also had to clean up the mess left by the previous. For my parents, they had to deal with Great depression and WWII....My generation had to deal with Viet Nam, and Jimmy Carter's stagflation. You guys have had to deal with one major economic downturn and a couple of ill advised skirmishes in Iraq.

Time to grow up and put on your big boy pants now...your future is in your hands and you can't blame Bush forever.

You say its grossly inaccurate and then go on to give your own anecdotal experience, as if your personal story somehow negates the overarching theme of the meme.

That's the type of logic the younger generations have come to expect from the baby boomers--great leaps from point A to point B and plenty of logical fallacies.

The logic of Hitsrus' post is the same as if any of our black posters asserted that there's no racial inequality in this country because they have never personally faced any.

What? You think I'm lying about 12 1/8%interest rate? ... The first house we tried to get the rate ( when I was 28)was even higher... above 14%. That's not anecdotal ...that's a fact. I could say that that meme is exactly what older people expect from the younger generation ....a bunch of lies and exaggerations and blaming someone else for their rather than actually doing something about it. I could say that, but it would be unfair to characterize an entire generation. Not that that's going to stop you.

How the hell did you get me calling you a liar from my post? I didn't say you were a liar. Not remotely close.

I said it's a logical fallacy for you to say the meme is grossly inaccurate but using your own personal anecdotal experience as support for calling it inaccurate.

well if my experience was only anecdotal, then so was everybody elses. These were the times when I got out of school and tried to get a job, start a business, buy a home....
...so yeah...saying the meme is merely inaccurate is being kind.

My point has obviously gone completely over your head. I can't believe I have to do this, but I guess I do:

Original post: General statements about Baby Boomers in meme form
Your response: General statements about Baby Boomers are grossly inaccurate because of my personal, anecdotal experience
Me: It's a logical fallacy to use personal, anecdotal experience to call a general statement grossly inaccurate....that is because your sole personal experience is inconsequential in relation to a general statement
You: "You think I'm lying?"

Nowhere did I say anything about thinking you're lying. All I said was you can't use your personal experience to negate a general statement.

Not to mention (and i tend to agree hits most of the time), his response/counter was a general statement against millennials lol.

apparently HIS point went over your head. we had it worse than the millenials have it now. record high inflation, high interest rates, and high unemployment.

country will be completely in the shitter in 20 years. hillary is the only hope to turn this ship around.

...and if it came off that way, I apologize, but you have to admit this entire thread is "a general statement against" Boomers.

I refuse to characterize an entire generation with generalities such as the one contained in the meme....
I could say that that meme is exactly what older people expect from the younger generation ....a bunch of lies and exaggerations and blaming someone else for their rather than actually doing something about it. ...said in response to ihslep's
[That's the type of logic the younger generations have come to expect from the baby boomers--great leaps from point A to point B and plenty of logical fallacies

One more thing about ihslep's comments....He seems to think that this meme is a "general statement about baby boomers in meme form", when it is actually an acnecdotal experience of a kid with dumb fu** asshole parents of which, no generation has a monopoly on. Then he goes on to claim that because I used my own experience as an example ( which he labelled a "sole personal experience" and an anecdote), it was a logical fallacy????...when it was in fact it was representative of what EVERYBODY getting out of college in the late 70's /early 80's went thru....Double digit interest rates, unemployment, runaway inflation.

I'm not going to be so bold as to say we had it tougher, because I personally don't know what you are going thru. But I will say that none of this is new....right down to the younger generation squawking about their parents. At some point, we grow up and shoulder the burdens and responsibilities that have been thrust on us.

You're a fucking dumbass because that's not what Hits said or implied. He used his personal experience to counter the percentages used in the general statement made in the meme. That's a logical fallacy that I pointed out after his response.

Just because you're dumb doesn't excuse you for incorrectly interpreting both his post and my response. Now please, go ask your wife if you can use your balls for the night; maybe then you can come up with an intelligent response.

Dear God, Monty....I was with you to right there. If there is a baby boomer I would trust to turn around the deficit, the greatest threat to our posterity,...it would be John Kasich who knows how to balance a budget without turning things to shit, and who knows the importance of which. Otherwise, I would throw in with Rubio who at least seems to understand the need for new solutions in a changing world.

LOL...you are the one not getting it, ihslep. My personal experience is representitive of the times, and I posted links for your education.
LOL ...do you think I was one one of the lucky few with a 12%+ interest rate?

Stagflation only applied to me????

Do you understand that inflation hits everybody?

I used my personal experience as an example of how I dealt with it, but the numbers are facts.
