...At a plastic manufacturing company "blue color" & trust me the work is very tough. A lot of the people work 4-10's but most are Mon/Fri 8hr days with OT available every day. My fancy-ass phone probably cost less than the low-powered college computer I had back in the day (and my laptop cost between 1/2 and 1/3 of what it did, despite being way, way more powerful). My flat-screen's price was comparable to the unwieldy tube TV I used to own and so on.

It's just the sort of painfully stupid argument made by people who are ignorant of technology. iPhones replace landlines, laptops replace larger desk computers and so on. People are paying roughly the same amount for technology as they would have 20-30 years ago — they're just getting far more bang for their buck.
