Also read a Miami sun time article titled "love opts out of contract and lebron James doesn't want him back."

Jesus what kind of hack journalism bullshit is that?

Bird Rights and the new CBA net him $110 more over the next seven years if he signs a 1 yr deal this year and next. the real question is would the Cavs give him 5 years and $202 when he's 33. I ask that because he's had some really tough miles put on that body, seriously gets pummeled like every play.

The answer is yes.

$202 over five years is pretty lousy money. Even I make more than that and I work at the golf course mowing grass.

Cavs and Spurs working on a trade for Haywood's contract, so the Spurs can get Aldridge, I would assume.

The trade would look something like this...

Haywood for Mills and Splitter or Diaw.

I would take it. Diaw can play the 3,4 and the 5. I don't think I would take Splitter as a third string 5, but with Varejao, you might want insurance. Mills gives you that solid backup. Any combination of the three give you championship experience that wouldn't rot on the bench.

I have no faith in Varejao anymore so I like this trade. Mills also provides a little 3-point shooting and guard depth although I don't think he is the solution for buying minutes for Irving.

Ideally the Cavs would then move Splitter/Diaw to another team for a younger SF.

Ideally yes. We have a lot of back court depth but low on wing players. When the Cavs build this team for the next 4-5 years of Lebron's peak career, they are going to need a SF that can buy minutes for Lebron during the regular season. I still expect Lebron to get mid-season vacations from a 'lingering injury' like he did last year.

As he should. I'd advocate that for Love and Kyrie as well. Stagger each of them throughout the 2nd half of the year.

Disagree. I'd keep Splitter/Diaw. Bigs are like pitching, can't have enough. When Anderson goes down 22 games into the season, we're left with Moz as the only true 5. Diaw can play some 3 on offense, TT can guard some 3 on Def. Then have Moz/Splitter or Moz/Diaw to play some 5. Try like hell to move JR for SF backup.

Disagree with this. Cavs didn't lose because of lack of bigs; they lost because of lack of talent depth. When you have 8 players out of 15 that straight up are hurt(Love, Varejao, Irving) or simply can't play(Marion, Miller, Haywood, Perkins, Harris), you aren't going to win a championship. Cavs need overall depth at every position and shouldn't throw away their one big piece for 2 PF/C on a team that already has plenty of PF/C. We need wing and PG depth badly.

The backup PG is Delly(love him, but he lacks talent) and the backup SF is James Jones(LOL) and Mike Miller(Bigger LOL), but no let's add more PF/C because Love, TT, Mozgov, and Varejao isn't enough. Remember you only get 15 players on a roster and currently the Cavs have 7 of those roster spots for PF/C.

Mozgov is our only legit center on the roster. TT can't really play it.

Legit centers don't win championships anymore. This isn't the early 2000's with Shaq carrying Kobe Bryant to championships. When's the last time a Center carried a team to a championship? Gasol with the Lakers? It's the exception, not the rule in today's NBA.

I'd say heat/gsw are the exception bro

Hell LBJ would have been able to rest with KI/Love. LBJ to bench, KI/Love can run the offense. Pwning their def with Splitter/Diaw. EZ

ESPN says the Cavs & LeBron are eyeballing Dunleavy.

What is LeBron's deal with washed-up, white, one-dimensional players?

With what the Cavs are able to do this offseason with limited cash, he'd be an upgrade to the bench for sure. Dunleavy> Jones, Miller, Marion.

Doubt he's taking the MLE which is all we have to offer.

Same with Mo Williams. They keep talking about "mutual interest" but will he take the MLE?

Mo Will probably be a Vet min. guy, same with Dunleavy. Both only made around $3.5m last season, and each are a year older, which means offers will drop.

Veteran Min deals for both would be around $1.3m, so they could probably make more else where, but not too much more.

I am fairly certain you can sign any player to the vet minimum regardless of cap situation.
