This raises two questions:

1. Were the pictures on the menu board all month?

2. If yes, then does that mean you can't serve fried chicken at all during the month of February? That in itself would be a crime.

As a black dude, a couple of things ran through my head...

1. It's not racist. Mildly insensitive, but everyone knows it wasn't meant to offend

2. I'm more upset that we didn't have these food options when I went to Wright State. Seriously, wtf? I would've gotten in that line multiple times!

3. Everyone loves chicken and mashed potatoes. I mean come on, what's more American than that?

why is it insensitive in the first place. ......i just don't get it ......i go to greek festivals and italian festivalas and they even have an african american festival in steubenville ... all three celebrate cultural diversity ,and the best way to celebrate those cultures are by making different foods ,along with music ... i love soul food and i love italian and greek food .. i love me some polish sausage and hungarian cabbage rolls...... i just don't understand what's so bad about soul food .... why is it an insult to have a soul food dinner during black history month.... celebrate it embrace it .... when people get offended by what their culture is then maybe they have a deeper problem and maybe just maybe they wish they weren't who they were...... ...........i'm not trying to offend but if the menue had a black guy with big red lips and a picture of fried chicken and watermelon then that would be offensive stereo type,but it doesn't ............by the way we have a local black owned ribs place who has a depiction of a black kid with big lips with ribs on the picture ...they have a food truck too and they are very popular and they do a good business ......they celebrate who they are .........i also understand that black folks can play by a set of rules within their culture that white folks cannot without being labeled racists ...it's understood ....just will some people lighten the fuck up ....

The fact that there is a black student union is a problem in the first place. And if it's a mexican holiday can they not have tacos? Or fish 'n chips on st. patricks day? When 90% of the Bo Jangles and Church's chicken workers and customers are black, it isn't a stereotype, they like the shit. I'm tired of people being offended, get the hell over it. at work they celebrate cinco de mayo every year and they hang up mexican decorations and have some sort of mexican cuisine, and we don't have a single mexican working at the plant ............. thank goodness ,because if we did then the plant would probably have a law suite on it's hands ......
